Description
Orie Nakano's girlfriend is cheating on him with two other men! One is the mysteriously untouchable Tatsumi, and the other is the basketball-playing upperclassman that Orie idolizes. But things are far from being as simple as they seem, and now the three men are inevitably pulled towards each other and bond together by their love for Yuka, which extends much farther than just the girl herself. Love, admiration and lust intermingle around them in an inescapble spiral in this coming of age sexy romance.

Not BL!!
by Poemi
December 2nd, 2008, 2:07pm
Rating: 3.0  / 10.0
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The story revolves around a promiscuous girl, with a lot of angst and drama caused by her. That was disappointing because I prefer there to be development in the relationships between guys, so to me it was like this girl was a wrench (an air-headed, slutty wrench, mind you) thrown in that ruined it for me. The guys in the story were so hung up on her and were only together because of her! Where's the BL in that?!
The only redeeming factor was the art.

Probably the only yaoi manga I absolutely don't want to buy!

I really disliked this story. I felt the angst was unnecessary, that the protagonists created problems where there didn't need any, and worst of all, I felt that the story was gross because I didn't feel any love between the characters...

I still love Honami's art though.
But among all the works she drawn, I much prefere Rin, Yabai Kimochi and Kimi ni Katenai.

Oh, the ending!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I usually hate endings like this because it leaves me with such a deep feeling of nostalgia, and this was even worse considering all they had shared, I just can't (won't) believe that they'll go their separate ways like that, such a pity. I guess I'll do just like pleochroic and try to think of the scene in Yuka's room as the last one *sobs*

But more than the ending, it's the way they got together that made me deduce a point from my rating. It's not that it was rushed, the manga is really quite wonderfully paced, "a slow motion car accident" really, but I felt there should have been more to it, don't know how else to put it.

On the whole this manga is quite unique in its way of dealing with the bleak human emotions realistically. And concerning the depth of its characters it's really not your usual two-dimensional type with simplistic (if not idiotic) behaviors.

A deeply touching manga, which leaves you munching at your fingers with a racing heart.

Amazing story. Not the usual yaoiland story and for once I actually never knew what to expect.
Kind of sad but I loved it all the same (and I really can't belive I did ^^), thought I was going to be traumatized after reading it but nothing like it.
Going back to read it again now, it definetly deserves a lot of rereads!

The story and characters are intriguing and realistic. Honami-sensei's art fits the mood perfectly! Beautiful and sensual, like the story itself. It's hard to put this manga down once you start (worth buying, too). Very sad, indeed. And as others have stated, this is most definitely not your typical yaoi x]

If you're in awe of how much one person can touch a number of lives, this is the manga for you smile

Deep, compelling...

Deep and compelling, the story sure is not some typical yaoi series about eh, the usual cliched stuff. I agree that this is an interesting way of "love" and "experiencing" the memories and sensations of another person.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I felt sad that the story ended that way but then again, none of the characters had romantic or sexual inclinations for the same genders, did they? They formed their bodies together to savour the last connection each of them had with Yuka: her scent, her touch, her embrace. In the end, the main connection binding them was Yuka and once it was over, they carried on with their separate lives.

Sorry for giving this a five, looking at it as a whole, it's actually a pretty good story and I liked the involvement of a girl as the main story, because it's so rare in yaoi stories. But ANGST, jesus, and so much of it. It doesn't do much for me, the ever comedy fan. I agree that the summary is really misleading, haha.

well worth reading as dramatic story

this doesn't feel like yaoi to me, but i also think i am wrong, because there is more than one kind of love, and there are stories within the genre that transcend it. *wry smile*. this is definitely such a story. is the ending positive? i guess in some sense; the boys are able to find solace in each other, and forgive. but the very last scene leaves me feeling sad again though it is realistic; i just wish the story had ended when they last meet in yuka's room. i think that's why i am deducting a point from my rating; this fanboi's heart is left broken.

this author/artist team is a wonderful combination; takaguchi's complex storytelling is perfectly illustrated by honami, whose art i love.

but the summary up there is terribly misleading (and somebody locked it so i can't even correct it). this is NOT a "sexy romance" by any stretch of the imagination. there is sex, but it's not particularly sexy, and it's not romantic in the vernacular sense at all. it's sad as hell to boot. read this if you're looking for drama, give it a wide berth if you're looking for sexy romance.

The plot was so compelling that it wouldn't release you. A slow motion car accident with a positive ending.

Definitely not your average mindless yaoi, I’m not even sure if it can be categorized as pure yaoi either, since it contains a heterosexual sex scene as well as some other things (not going to say more because it could be a spoiler).

Mature plot and a bit sad, very good read. Takagushi Satosumi knows how to write complicated stories and I adore Honami Yukine as artist, very simple but beautiful style.

edit: I also agree with pleochroic, maybe publishes > random summary, but in this case the publisher failed miserably to summaries correctly the story, there is nothing "sexy" in it and there is no romance either, there is plenty of drama and angst though.
