First story: While I admit that the story wasn't perfect, it left me smirking. Idk why (I do actually, but it's too long to explain) , but I was 50/50 in hoping that they're gonna end up together. But when Minato smirked, I swear I smirked too.

Open endings...

I re-read this title and gave it a higher rating now...
I love sensei's works and even though her art is not the typical bishounen type artwork, it's got it's charm and I find her men pretty sexy as well by now...
I love the lightness that her stories have, while being realistic and even dark and gloomy sometimes; they are interesting and the characters are likable!

I loved this story! The only thing is that the ending way too open for my personal taste... what it'd need to be perfect is at least another chapter (the more the better) which shows them actually starting to date and how they manage and some real smut!! I'd rate it 11/10 if it had that.
The way it is, it's a solid, good, realistic story with a bit of an unsatisfying BUT positive ending, and I'd recommend it to everyone who enjoys BL for more than /just/ the smut!

Maybe I'm hormonal, I don't know, but the second story was really sad. I want to hug Kudo (even though he'd probably punch me). ^^;

The first story was good not great, but it was gorgeous. You'd think a yaoi with minimal sex scenes wouldn't work, but this one really does. I've read so many that relied on sex that this was a nice refresher. The author's sense of humor tops it off and makes it worth reading more than once.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Noooo! Kudo cut his hair at the end! :(

this is my first time reading this authors story, and she is damn good! now this is my kind of story, less talk but the emotion are well drawn.

in sickness of youth i really didn't get the humor but it do give me a stir when the uke thinks he's losing the seme?im gonna spoil a bit they actually didn't have sex. this is all story telling type yaoi. (but i dunno if it will have continuation since its still ongoing) nevertheless its freakin satisfying.

as for the Tengoku ga Mieru, this is really great. but it doesnt have any connection to the first story. i don't care about that actually bigrazz coz its damn great it deserved to have its own name. get me? this will make you cry. this again doesnt have any sexual content in it.

now that i lay things theres no sex at all!ohoohoho but why the hell am i so satisfied? anyway guys you should try this out. your gonna miss out big time if you dont read this.

Like most of her other stories, she mixes in drama with a little comedy, and lots of good plot. This one in particular, although not fully scanlated, was plot.

The characters are all really likable, and you can connect to them; they're realistic, and think about more than just sex. As you continue reading, you'll want to read more and more. I'm reading Half-Baked's scans, and I shouted at the end of chapter two, wishing for more.

Give it a try if you like your yaoi with more variety, and your characters not as dumb as a doorknob; you certainly won't be disappointed.

Edit: for Tengoku ga Mieru;
This one was absolutely beautiful. I've tried on several occassions to finish Negai Kanae Tamae, another title from the mangaka, but couldn't do the the poor quality of the scans, but this story has made do so. Both Luke and Kudo are absolutely endearing; there's plenty of comedy going on, but the plot is still vividly there. I can't say much about it, or it'll be considered a spoiler, but I was pretty close to crying by the end of the story.

Just want to say that when I got to somewhere in middle of Chapter 1, I spat out my drink and laughed my head off.It's a tiny thing, but so funny. Nishida and Half-baked Scanlations are improving all the time. I really look forward to reading the rest.

One of Her Best Works!

Original Comment (Posted May 8th, 2008) on Chap 5/6:

This story combines humour and tragedy with eloquence.
Humour: "I could receive just one kiss from you, Kudo san, then i'd find the strengh and determination to keep on living." -Luke "In that case, then drop dead." -Kudo
The way Luke kept bouncing back to light-hearted joker whenever he gets too close to his own heart was done with a powerful, deft hand by Nishida-sensei.

Updated comment on Title Story (Posted Jul 24, 2009):

This story had a realism 'feel' to it more so than a lot of BL. The illustrations complement this fact with their edge of masculinity, although still very pretty men. Nishida-sensei's drawing style stands out with such simple openness in close-ups for emotionally tense scenes. I find her work to be a mixture of Yoshinaga Fumi’s understanted story telling power, but with the melodrama of reliable BL emotional reactions. I kept flipping back and forth, back and forth, rereading scenes because I was on a wave that I wanted to keep on riding, or enough depth to the simple phraselogy that made me think, 'huh, wait a minute! That was surprisingly profound.'

And the ending was wonderfully woven together; a masterful tapestry and statisfyingly grounding and yet freeing with imagination.
