I did enjoy reading it up to a certain extent. At occasion, i paused reading it because i needed to back down from all these bad melodrama. A weak protagonist, abusive father, selfish and indifferent mother, clingy possesive girlfriend, male lead's infidelity. This is like telling me if anything can go wrong in life, please take that wrong turn.

Given the art, I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this series, but I found it very enjoyable. It wasn't depressing, like you'd think it'd be. Though it was heart wrenching (you couldn't help but feel Ito's pain) it didn't make me cry. I did love all the psychological melodrama though, because its different from the typical airy shoujo. There's more dept to it.

I don't think that Ibuki was a horrible person. I think he did what he thought was right, given the situation that he was in. Though he did make some bad decisions (i.e. running away with Ito, so not to be separated again instead of facing the consequences of his actions like a man) it was undeniable that he loved Ito. I think that being with him made Ito stronger. He was one of the first people to figure out what was happening to her, but instead of scorning her like her so called boyfriend did, he reached out to her and try to help her. And there was no emotional abuse going on. He really cared for her and tried his best in not hurting her. It was understandable though why he couldn't really chose Ito. He had other obligations that he couldn't get out of. His life wasn't really his to decide.

His girlfriend at the time, Sayoko, wasn't so much of a pyscho as I thought she'd be. And it's understandable why she couldn't let go. She's loved him for so long and had it in her head that they were going to marry no matter what. If anything, she was just a bitch.

Ito's mom on the other hand, though she was only there was a short time, I understood her behavior as well. She threw away being a mom when she walked out to do what she wanted. Talking to Ito the way she did wasn't to hurt her, it was her way of getting Ito to do what she wanted without worrying about what other people would think. Just like she did (kinda). All in all her dad had to be the most despicable. Beating her for no reason, just cause he could and he was angry/embarrassed about his wife leaving.

The series made me want a love like Ito's and Ibuki's, minus all the melodramatic moments of course. A LOVE that could stay strong through separation and keeps you moving forward. A love that never dies, and stays true to you no matter what. A love that just warms you no matter how much it may hurt. A love like that. Read it =]

Please..

Add the tag infidelity please. PLEASE. This manga attempts to be "realistic," but it's strangely not. Once it seems to be more true-to-life, that plot thread is either abandoned or suddenly morphs into some drama-creating conflict.

I really despised the male lead. I had very little empathy for him. It wasn't even really the fact that he was cheating. It was the fact that he knows the MC is psychologically unstable yet CONTINUES to batter away at her mentally, often without realizing it. It's terrifying to read really, if you look into the implications.

IMHO, the situation she ends up in is only marginally better than her father's abuse, partially because of the extremity of it, and partially because she's already completely battered from the abuse.

I did like the use of time skips, and the growth of the MC's maturity. Yet it seemed as if as soon as the male lead was involved, she regressed, further suggesting the mental number he has done on her. It was like a bad horror romance film without the dripping blood and gore.

The girlfriend, eh. I think the mangaka tried to give her some depth and not just make her the psycho-possessive girlfriend, but she failed. Almost miserably. It's one thing to be desperate. It's another to insist on psychologically torturing the MC. At more than one point, I wanted the MC to give up on the asshole and just let the girlfriend and the bastard stay together.

Though, her mother is a close contestant for the most hated character. Only appears in like one or two chapters yet thoroughly managed to piss me off. I really wanted the MC to tell her off.

Anyway, I'm supposed to give a review-ish thing, so I'll say this. Unless you have a lot of free time that you don't mind being taken by annoying melodrama, skip this.

It's really not that great.

well it's not like its a bad read but i really don't know what to say about this manga. some people may think that the main girl was in the wrong and others may say that it's the girlfriend who's hanging onto him but i personally think it's all him. like there wouldn't of been a need for people to get hurt and suffer like they did if he just made up his mind like he did in the end ealier on when he was a similar situation. sheesh well i guess everyone was at fault when you really look at it but i still think he played the main role. i guess this is wat the call life and fate

Her mother was a selfish awful person who didn't seem to care about the horrible shit that she did to her family. If not for her cheating and then abandoning her family, the father would have never been sent spiraling and he never would have hurt Ito. So in the end, it was the mother's fault.
