Arisugawa Kiku (aka Arisu) is a Japanese high-school girl who gets really nervous around foreigners. Arisu's father is getting transferred to New York for his job, so her mother pressures her to sign up for conversational English lessons. Arisu reluctantly goes to class only to discover that she's already met Ish, one of her new instructors! The two had fought over the last can of mackerel at the 100 yen shop the day before. Despite being a rude and sarcastic guy, Ish is actually very popular... Why is it that guys with glasses are just so SEXY?!

Is the TL of the scanlations fked up or why is it all to messed? I didn't get half of the plot. The spelling was correct but the sense not. Some things even contradicted itself. Failed in my point of view (the scanlation, not the manga). And I normally like her works (totally like Kiss).
Guess when it's lisenced I'll try this one with proper TL.

Somehow, I just can't get into her works. I didn't like Beauty is the Beast and I didn't like this one either. Although I do love her style of drawing since it's absolutely gorgeous. I just don't like how all the characters are so detached and shows so little emotions.
I usually enjoy Matsumoto's work, but this one was hard to read, most probably because it switches from english to japanese and vice versa, so it's very choppy. Half of the time I wasn't sure who was saying what and half of the conversations between the two main characters didn't make much sense, but I guess it's suppose to be that way since even they don't understand each other.
its ok it is like most of hers rather slow paced a little too slow for my liking and I feel after kiss shes already done the whole "student x teacher" thing.
Love the dry humour! Very well-drawn too.
Matsutomo's humor tends to be dry and light, and that's exactly what you'll get with this manga. The atypical heroine is an added bonus, and she snarks mercilessly with her conversation teacher. I'm actually less interested in the romance than I am in the snark -- I don't want to see it go!
I really like Matsumoto Tomo's works,and this one seems to be great...pitty that they haven't released something in so long,is Condensation dropping it?

Oh wow I love this manga!!! It's sooo good!!! ^.^ I know only the 1st chapter has been released but it's one of those manga where you can tell how good it is from the first chapter!!!
