This manga turned out to be excruciatingly boring, it wasn't absolutely horrible or anything it's just that it lacked well, 'umph.' Not to mention that the mangaka doesn't seem very knowledgeable about Christianity to be honest, she has basic knowledge but pretty much trashes nuns (pretty sure nuns don't wear wedding dresses when they have their ceremony's). The plot was kind of all over the place and introduced some meaningless story lines really, not to mention that towards the end everything just started to seem like some sort of awfully executed gag. The good thing about it is that it has some nice sentimental happy stuff in it I guess but that's about it. Don't expect anything from the story line or the characters.

I must say I started this manga expecting the worst, seeing the other comments and not particularly being keen on shoujo or Japanese Christian fantasies. It started out with a weak concept, superficially made some passes at some of the psycholgical factors and focused on a rather perculiar incest taboo that wasn't really necessary. The characters were not of particularly weak or strong, seiya was the typical playboy who is madly in love at first sight... constantly irritated and then completely devoted.... Maria did have some charm in her innocence at the beginning but was developed by "falling in love (and lust)" rather strangely as her character was not really supposed to understand these.... Besides the few main characters side characters were not developed and stuck to their roles. The plot was, unbelievable as Yuri21 commented but it kept moving and was obviously being used effectively to ilustrate the characters' troubles.
Although the art was not eye candy and never leaves one breathless it was impeccably clean and the messages were clearly transmitted. Despite the narrowness of story and characters, it deserves praise for how forcefully the dillemas and pureness of Maria's emotions came across and how it was able to wrap up her story neatly. The story is short and sweet and completely revolves around Maria and her struggle between love and duty. And it has to be taken as such to be enjoyed.

It started out semi-interesting, and I finished this a while ago. The only reason I didn't block it completely out of my mind was because of the nun and the tiger.

It's soo boring. There was nothing that kept me interested through out all four volumns. The idea overall is really lame, sorry to say, it didn't capture my attention what-so-ever.

Would've been way better IF the entire setup hadn't been so unrealistic. The beginning of the manga started out really interesting, though kinda cheesy and the middle part of the manga wasn't too bad either. However, the mangaka really blew the plot by throwing in such unbelievable explanations like how the characters managed to stage the various events. It utterly spoiled the ending and made the cast look like fools.
