This manga is awesome, the story is very original. the artwork is great as well. character development is topnotch. And I can't believe that this manga made me cry in some parts. haven't ever read an action manga that made me cry. this is truly amazing.

Awesome artwork , lots of action gore , a completely unheard of story , and a lot of fanservice too (im guessing the author has done hentai b4 )

The beginning sucks big time with too much big boobs and sex, plus Kurono the main character is simply unerving to the max. Girls read seinen too and honestly all this useless fanservice almost killed me.

But after several volumes the story definitly picks up. The plot in itself... is pretty simple but you find yourself drawn to the story as you see characters evolving ( especially Kurono ) and the author always surprising you torturing them to the max, playing with their minds ( and yours by the way) and killing characters left right and center and main characters are not spared as well.

Overall Gantz is an intriguing piece of work. This one should be read at least to enlarge your culture about manga as it is actually certainly one of the most intriguing one being published. If you manage to get past the first volumes, you'll be able to find something worth reading and I'd say gripping at times.

Probably one of the most intriguing manga out there and it never fails to make you guess what in the world will happen next.

So keep rooting for your favorite character... they're gonna need it!

This is a guilty pleasure of mine.

It's not as good as some other mangas in terms of story lines, or characters, or whatever, but that's fine. It's a highly entertaining manga that I always enjoy reading.

I haven't read too much so far, but what i've gotten to is pretty awesome. The art is wicked and the story is enticing enough to make me wanna keep reading...hope it satisfies

well at first i really was piss the introduction showing an selfish kid who criticizes others and is a dam emo. That is my first impression
But LATER On like a couple of chaps it was SO GOOD in depth of the character and his screw up crazy life began ... the fact that we want to know what in the world is going on we read and read but as we do we are actually concentrating on the evolving heroin... SWeets

Great series, if you overlook the sex and violence, though the violence can be important at times, like emphasizing the death of people. Afterall death is no laughing matter. Plus you can see how kuruno grows as a person, and leader.

Ive been readin this manga for 1 and half years now..... its my favorite manga of all time... the artwork is insane.... tons of hot girls with big titties... Lots of blood... People dyin... especially those that were newly introduced and thats just too good... Ive been dyin to read the new chapters... but even tho theres so many teams translatin it... many of them just lacks people or something and r 2 slow... well anyways if u watch the anime... or havnt watch it yet... dont watch it.. cuz it sucks.. the endin on the anime completely fucked up... the story as well... so just wait for the manga... the only bad thing about the manga is that its a monthly manga and gets people too addicted to wait for the next chapter cause when i just start readin it i finish it all in like 4 days (around 7hr each day..) and were waitin for ages for new chapters... especially since the artist took time off for the part 2 after kei died...

ps.. even tho im not 18 years old ive been readin seinen manga for 2 years now.. theyre better than shonen in violence and naked girls... and if u love this manga like i do... u should try to read Zetman cuz its freakin another awwwwwsome seinen manga!!!~

Gantz is a nice seinen manga. What the good thing about this manga are not the blood/gore and sex, but what the characters think during the socalled alien hunt/sport, the psychological part of the manga. Every decision could save lives or destroy them (at first the members of the gantz team and later the normal civilians).

The character and gadgets design is great. The character development is even greater (mainly Kurono Kei: changing from a lazy/ignorant boy to a person with responsibilities).

As for the (minor) flaws in the manga, in my opinion there's not much explanation about why hunting down the aliens, especially when they don't seem to form a threat to humans (at first). And why does Gantz exists, what's its origin (maybe some explanation in the manga in the near future?).

As for the nudity/sex/gore, well it's a seinen/mature manga; in my opinion it's the style of this manga, without these characterics it's not Gantz. These characterics of the manga separate the men from the boys.
