I agree with the comment by JCDRANZER. This high-fantasy manwha has so much potential to be epic. The odd pairing between a naive young man and an ancient ultra-powerful (evil?) sorceress is quite exciting indeed with lots of comedic moments. The author goes all-out with all those huge monsters and awesome magic.

I think this is the only series by Im Dal Young that i really like, mainly cuz the main characters arent douchebags. And it really does remind me of Superior which i love very much!

I really hope this series continues to get scanlated fast.
Cuz i need MOAR!

It may seem that a majority of the readers are currently pissed at the series based on the comments, but while part 1 was great, though cliched. part 2 is new and makes a majority of people get angry, I like the series and part 2 gives the characters definition. In the way that normally if a major event happens the way characters act change and not necessarily in a good way. So yeah over all pretty darn good read, and still pretty good.

like mahou tsukai kurohime.... minus the guns.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
And it really is. the girl is all-powerful, she can only have her powers released by love (a kiss in this case) then she opens a can of whoop-ass that nobody in the world could possibly stand
although its still not too bad. the characters are cute. (even if the main girl reminds me of kurohime as well). still, not a bad read. I've read much worse out there. I'd recommended it to anyone that asked me whether i thought it was good. but wouldnt name it as one of my top 10.

Worth the read

The story started of kind of weird. The main character, Felix, was gutless and seem to have no redeeming qualities, and he has the hots for his brother wife. However, as the story goes one, the story actually show some good character developments. The story may seem a bit cliche if you have been reading a lot of these shounen manga. However, I'm still interested in the series nonetheless. And as always, the art is crisp and superb. Definitely, worth the read.

The art is stunning, like every manga IM Dal Young authors, even if he isn't doing the art. The story doesn't feel over-used, even if it isn't completely original, like someone said. This really has the potential to be EPIC and I'm really looking forward for someone to scanlate it.

I absolutely love this manwha........it might seem generic.....but there are sooo many possibilities of making this manwha EPIC....the fact that its a pairing between a female villain and a naive young man, who will soon be a hero....just gets me excited. Its basically Superior (a manga by Ichtys), just with lots of humour and probably more ecchiness added for good value......I like it and I really want to read more of it!! XD

A Shift from Shounen to Seinen
Rating: 9.0 / 10.0

People down here just don't understand. If you hate the development that much, then try reading Im Dal-Young other works, so you find out that Maian is the MOST BRIGHTEST and MOST SANE of his works (I can't stand the others: I stopped reading most of them in chapter 3-5. Unbalance and Koimoku are the 'survivors'.).

Well, even if the shifting from shounen-ish and cliché battle-fantasy story of part 1 to the more darker and a 'little' twisted personality from part 2, I think it's just unacceptable because Maian is where Dal-Young put more moderation in the story while it still has Dal-Young's unique story development.

Love it has everything a Shounen lover wants good action, weak to strong theme, good romance, and part 2 jst blows the mind. I mean shoot this has got to be the best shounen/Seinen(shifts to this in part 2) out there. but to bad the releases are slow

Good Series

You guys should really go away and rage somewhere else with, "its the same as his other series, its cliche" Instead of complaining go read something else or actually leave a review for this series.

The point of this is, if you like IM Dal-Young's series then you will also love this one.
Sure the character might start off weak but he had his moments when his true power comes to the surface, which we will most likely see more of in the new Arc. Afterall the series is called "Legend of Maian" i agree the first part was sad and really didnt see it coming.

A few characters do kind of blend in so you dont get attached to them but i believe the story was mainly focused on maian as he was powerless and gaining experience in the world.
