Black Blood Brothers ver.C is one of those mangas which assumes that you've read the light novels or have at least watched the anime before seeing it. Having said that, I found this one exceptionally easily to follow without having read or seen either [unfortunately.] My only disappointment is that it is very short, just a single volume with three chapters and some extras. However I would still highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys vampires in their manga.
