if this manga isn't adultery oriented, i would give it a higher rating. But the manga seems to just HAVE TO HAVE some disgusting adultery in there....so it went from 10 to 4. It failed.

Well, I think Its going in a good direction. Ill explain why further down, but first i have to comment on the berserk > Ubel and Ubel > Berserk comments.

People. SHUT THE **** UP! Berserk is berserk. Ubel is Ubel. Its fair to compare things to something better, But saying its a rip-off is just plain wrong. If you wanna see why, Here, ill show you.

Violinist of hamelin is a rip off of berserk because Hamel carries a giant violin that looks like a sword. Oh, he has a little birdy flying with him, like In berserk that guy whos the main character has an elf. And hes going to defeat a big evil! OMG! VIOLINIST OF HAMELIN IS A RIP OFF OF BERSERK! OH NOES!

Now do you see just how stupid your comparisons are? If you don't. Heres a second comparison for you. And someone else used a comparison like this earlier on in the comments, so im gonna use one sorta like it.

"Hey, do you want some white chocolate?" "No, I hate white chocolate." "Why?" "Its like milk chocolate, and i hate rip-offs"

Anyways, Now on to why i like this series. Sure, its more shounen...y than seinen, But personally, for art this clean, i cant see how you could call it seinen. Seinen is generally directed at adults, This is probably shounen like many people said, only sold as seinen so that it makes more sells.... Ya, anyways, back to why i like it

Art : Clean. I like clean art. I hate art thats so hard to see you have to wear magnifying glasses to tell whats going on.

Story: A little cliche, But what isnt now-adays. Its harder to find an original story in anything. And if you wanna get specific, berserk is a rip-off of Mahou shoujo series, since he has a little elf partner helping him. But i digress. The story is mediocre, Not too great, but enough to keep you interested. It makes you wonder, even though you know itll happen, How Koinzell gets his revenge exactly.
Characters : The only character that has been in more than half is koinzell, and everyone else either rarely appears, or sits in the background sucking loli-pops. Which means koinzell is the only one worth mentioning. Sure, Half-elf isnt very original, But this manga pulls it off. This is tad common sense, part spoiler.


Overall, i give this rating a 7. Its not perfect, but its definitely not mediocre or "Average".... So, ya...... Read it, its good. But some people are obviously not open to stories and will shut it down at the slightest hint of a rip off.

Why? Because I don't enjoy watching little boys having sex with random adult women (like its supposed to be fan service no less). But I guess that was just the trigger that made me stop, the story was stupid and the art kind of goofy, and the setting largely cliched and I completely failed to become attached to any character or interested in any aspect of the plot. I agree with some of the people who say this isn't really seinen, its kind of a kiddy level story line put in the adult section for the sex scenes, making it unappealing for both younger readers and older readers.

well i agree that this is indeed different from berserk, and sad to say i find berserk better..i'm not really into lolicon and i find the use of sexuality in this manga a bit tasteless or perverted even..and like what some other people said it is more of a shounenish than a seininish in terms of maturity(well maybe except the sex part). initially the story doesnt have much punch in it or a bit immature, but it gets better along the way...

characters-wise i dont really have a favorite at this moment and i dont think it will change soon, since noone seems likable, and in terms of character dev't, i dont see any, yet..

on the possitive side, the story gets better along the way, the art is quite good, and the action scenes are exciting enough..

yeah, this one is much better. Some shotakon (or whatever they called) with huge swords everywhere (you know that i mean...). And several lolitas for fun. Just great.

Before Im going to read this I jsut have to comment...How can people read Berserk? Maybe I'm too strict when it comes to art, but a huge dude bulging with muscles as a main character doesn't appeal to me...that alone is the only thing stopping me from reading it...reminds me of rambo.

Ubel Blatt and Berserk are completely different mangas, even tough they share the same fantasy and medieval genre and some gore, Ubel Blatt is an excellent manga and so is Berserk, stop comparing them...there's no point and no end. Both are great, I love the art and story as well as the action...

So it's pointless to rate a manga if you're going to be so short eyed to only see the best of the best, I personally prefer Claymore and Ubel Blatt over Berserk, I repeat personally.
So stop being emo and saying it's trash because it has similar elements as Berserk.

geez ppl. stop comparing it to beserk. if u wanna comment about how berserk is god or sumthin, go to the berserk thread. n for those complaining about how horrible Ubel Blatt is, at least read the first 3 chaps. itz pretty awesum if u dun jus read the first few pages n say, berserk ripoff, next. besides, the fight scenes being fast are a GOOD thing. i mean, do we really wanna read a manga that has ONE fight scene that lasts like several sumthin chapters (cough cough Bleach cough cough).

besides, koinzell is a character w/ depth. i mean srsly, his motives, his lack of support, etc. he seems omnipotent, but u c his limits later on. besides, koinzell got style. XD

I'm rating this without berserk in mind(I couldn't rate it if compared to Berserk anyways. I haven't read Berserk) I like this manga so far. The plot is simple, and I really do like the artwork. It's very good for a Mangaka's first try at this sort of genre. And it's a lot more shounen than seinen so I can read it more easily.

This is quite a good manga, to bad everyone is trying to put it in the same mindset as Berserk. I agree with some of the people who are saying that the comparison is ridiculous since they are both two totally different stories. The only similarities that you can really put them on with is that they are both dark fantasies. Well with that aside I have to say I was pretty pleased on what I read. The story seems to be building up in an interesting way, and the artwork is pretty great too. The characters were pretty intriguing as well, the history of a good amount of them would probably prove to be a very interesting read as well.
