Awww...it's really over...

I loved this manga - never a dull moment, with plot twists at every turn. It was a blast to read, and I highly recommend it.

My friend told me about this manga. And I must admit Ive fallen in love at the first sight. Its realistic - we must fight to get something important - it cant be given just because you want it. Risa and Otani are... lovely smile Love LoveCom!

I accidentally found this series in its anime form which is quite good. I was bored at that time and like i tried myself to shoujo's and love stories. Anyway the anime astound me on its plot and the way the mangaka shows that there's a 360 degrees revolve of a shojou series. I live Risa and her insecurities about her height and otani who despite his height manage to work his way to the basketball team through hard work. Lastly how these 2 develop to each other. A well balance, well thought and well plot manga and anime.

PS: im a guy and like the other guys posted here it really says alot

I found myself liking this manga a lot, and I'm usually very picky with mangas. When I first saw this, I thought it would be another shoujo manga with a third wheel, a clumsy girl and a cool guy, with the additional unique feature that it had a tall girl and a short boy. I thought that their differences in height would be the main focus which would eventually get boring, but i was very much wrong! It's such a light manga without the annoying drama that I love it! It's become my favourite manga because I hate overcomplicated plots. Also, Otani is the kind of guy that is sweet but doesn't like to show it, which is my favourite kind. Risa isn't naive and annoying, which is usually what many shoujo mangas portray. I'm really happy because of that. I'm just waiting for the whole thing to come out, then I'm thinking of reading it over again

Usually Shoujo manga's annoy the hell out of me.
I am female, so it's not a gender thing. It's usually because the lead female and love interest are so shallow, boring and frustrating. Lovely Complex has absolutely none of that.
Risa and Otani are very flawed people. They are self-conscious, awkward, somewhat socially stunted and (not to forget the main point) they're considered somewhat unattractive by general consensus. All of these points add together to create a challenging and typically unseen idea in Shoujo. Most of the story is about Risa and Otani's relationship developing. They meet, become friends, start interacting socially. All the while Nakahara Aya maintains a fine balance of slapstick comedy and sentimental value.
Lovely Complex is a manga for anyone, really. There's no way I could claim that the boys wouldn't like this story either. Definitely give it a chance.

This is, personally, one of my favorite mangas. And seeing as I'm a guy and this a shoujo manga, it's saying a lot. I forget how I actually found out about this manga, but I really liked the story and, of course, the comedy. I haven't finished it so, i won't give a final judgement but for what i've read it is EXTREMELY funny. And as some people have mentioned it's NOT just another shoujo manga. A great read for those of you that like comedy and/or romance. However, if you like darker-styled mangas, such as psycological types, this is not for you. Anyway, This is an overall good read. It's not the BEST, but it's still great.heck, in all technicality there CANNOT BE such a thing as best because it is all personal taste and opinion. Anyway, I highly Recommend this.

The one really good point on this manga is that, Otani IS NOT perfect. Yeah, can you believe that? But, it's awesome; he's not superstrong, or supersmart or anything (except for supershort, which doesn't really help). All that matters is that he's a really good guy and really loves Risa.

I love the story to pieces. I would say my personal favorite shojo manga mostly because I find her alot like me. There were many times when i was thinking...oh man there is going to be drama...or...crap how do you get out of this one. Situations such as oh a love rival and the classic "meeting the ex" but there is just so much love in this manga.

Skrew drama!!

I could not put this one down until I was done.... The character development here is very good.... I felt quite drawn to both the lead characters throughout the whole story.... It's pretty rare that I'm left mostly satisfied after I finish a series, but I can't say I have many complaints with this one....

So given my favorites center around Yaoi it isn't always easy for me to get myself away from that genre...But, I have to say that Love Com has proven to draw my inner Shoujo out. It hasn't failed to bring about a myriad of emotions with its simple expression of life's "complexities" while continuing to keep a light heart in mind. Risa and Otani 100% compatible!
