My thoughts...

I think this serie was great.
The serie was kinda sad,funny,drama,happy.
Even though tons of things happened during the series and watched how the love between the main characters grew bigger and bigger all the time.
To be honest i almost cried at the end (yes, im a guy at the age of 18).
The serie is extremly fantasy based with "filler chapters" in it, but they mostly were extremly fun to read.
I read HW from start to finish in a day, as I got extremly addicted to it and wanted to se what happens next.
I found this serie by searching my favourite manga-genre(s)
The art isn't exceptional compared to some series but it weren't horrible.

as I'm bad with writing reviews, I won't talk about the plot as I end up spoiling something soon and also to hide my bad english ^^
thanks for reading and enjoy the series if you are reading it and try starting if you haven't started yet, and hopefully you enjoy it too.

An Explaination

I have mentioned this on a couple of forums (both of which are now defunct), but it should be said again about this manga:

At the last chapter of the manga, between the end of the story and the final ending/fan art, there was an author note, which the scanlators really did a disservice by not translating. The author talked about how he decided to change the tone of the manga around the composition of Chapter 17, Angel's Egg, from a typical Shonen ecchi manga to one with a more serious tone, because of the biggest current event at the time, 9/11. The reflection of life and death and human need for kindness and destruction is well-represented in the manga after Chap. 17. For those that actually tried to read the author's note without knowledge of Japanese language, you can actually see number 17 and 9.11. within the beginning of the note.

Hopefully, this message would give people a new light and appreciation toward this manga.

The Happy World anime OVA attracted me to this manga. I recommend this manga to anyone who likes a good laugh or any romance comedies. Kinda stinks that scans of it are being released too slow =[

The Story Starts Late

My husband recommended this manga as a really powerful story. The first volumes (I think up through volume 8) are just kind of silly. There's a lot of humor, a lot of ecchi, and not a lot of story. I started to wonder if he was crazy for recommending this for the story. Then, during the last couple of volumes, the story takes hold and it's a lot more serious than anything you've read up to that point. It does take religious ideas and kind of twist them, but I guess being atheist, I didn't care that the story was expressing it's own new ideas of religion.

The characters were not your usual one sided pieces. They were growing and changing - and those first silly chapters were to thank for part of that. At first it seemed like a harem manga (and maybe it was) but it seems that the characters developed beyond being a love interest for the main male character and became people that he cared for as family or as close friends. The development of these non-love interest relationships seems a little bit unique for such an ecchi manga.

I usually don't like the kind of happy ending that this manga had, but it feels appropriate here. It was touching and emotional and beautiful.

Well at first i was like "this is gonna be like another stupid harem manga." After i read the first volume, i was like "I was right..." Then, i read a few more volumes and i was like OMFG why didnt i pick this up earlier. When it ended i wish that the mangaka made more volumes... i loved this manga and i wanted more of it. Best thing about this is that the ecchiness doesnt piss you off, but makes you laugh, and its not overly excessive. The romance in this manga is the type i like, not too corny, not to physical.

this is probably the longest review ive written.... this shows how good it is IMO.

The story begins as a romatic comedy slice-of-life manga and turns later into a dramatic action manga. I was very impressed by the character development of the main character. He begins as a nasty, selfish, weak-willed guy and becomes later more caring, strong and dependable.
Warning!: This manga is not something kids should read. It contains sexual tension. It's not just ecchi...rather on the border of ecchi and hentai.

Wow, just wow... As with most of everyone else who read this, I stuck on to the whole romantic comedy stuff because that is my favorite genre. But then it got deeper, more action-packed, and had numerous (and I mean an OBSCENE amount) of plot twists and character development. It also had an ending that gave me a lot of closure, kind of like how the end of Love Hina felt. Anyway read it if you really want to read something good and don't read it if you hate stuff like ecchi, fighting, romance, angels, demons, surprising plot-twists, Awesomeness, Chuck Norris, puppies, etc...

Yeah just read it.

At first, i picked up this manga because it said ecchi, but now that i read it and started to like it, its actually a pretty good manga. There's lots of fanservice, i guess. The interesting part of this manga is its twists and turns. Its like the mangaka changed his mind over periods of times, sometimes dramatic sometimes serious sometimes hilarious but that could also be a bad thing. The beginning sounds a bit generic though. I thought it was like "Ah My goddess" and then switched to a harem. up to chapter 45. its okay but i dont really like that harem much, i prefer the action part of it. pretty decent action scenes but rare and the art improves alot. Try it!

WTF am I reading?

I accidentally downloaded the first three volumes and ... uh ... yeah. I guess it's fun, but it's really not something that I'd start on purpose. I think I'll continue on the basis of other people saying it becomes all dramatic and such and because psycho-yandere-sword-chick and magical-girl battles could be awfully enjoyable.

But, um, yeah. Right now it's mostly high-absurdity ecchi and not really my thing.

---

Okay, finished. I'm not sure what to think.

Things get more coherent from volume 4, but are still generally high absurdity ecchi. It's entertaining and funny, but, um ... kinda stupid. There are some really good moments there, but the focus on lolboobs didn't help (okay, maybe it helped a little - but there's really only so much good you can wring out of boobs as the driving force behind your plot).

From volume 8 the vague bits of plot that were floating around from the earlier section coalesce and form something that's really compelling. If the whole thing had've been more like this it could have been great, but as it was it felt like it was trying to cram all the good into four volumes.

I really have no idea how to rate this one. It's not really coherent enough to be rated as a whole.

This manga is strange. It tries to mix many genres (romance-ecchi, demons-angels, fighting ect.), but because of the lack of polishing the final result is average at best. While reading it I have an unpleasant feeling od "mode-switching". After a humorous chapter I get a chapter with blood and gore (not very drastic in comparison to other series), then a chapter with fights where people cannot die not matter how hard they are beaten.

However the main plot is so deep and universal, that it's worth reading to the end. One of the deepest I've ever met in a manga.
