Description
What is a sweet, soft-spoken girl (Ha Li Kang) to do when her brothers, having just learned fencing and martial arts, decide to test some moves out on her in order to "tame her" and make her into their "little slave?" She runs to her knightly friend (Te Hu Kang, not related to Ha Li) for protection, of course. However, what happens when, instead of comforting her, he tells her that she is a coward for running away like a puppy who needs constant protection? No, she does not break down and cry like a weak girl. Instead, she resolves to grow stronger. With rigorous training everyday, Ha Li goes from being a scared girl who cries for help to becoming the Jjang (boss of a gang) of the Doberman gang. However, events lead to Ha Li getting in an accident with a truck. Afterwards, she is reborn into the body of a beautiful, but weak, rich girl Aram Han.

At her new school, everyone is surprised at the sudden change they see in Aram, who has gone from a gloomy, good student to a rude, carefree troublemaker. Many people bully her. When Ha Li finds out that it is all due to Sin Uoo Park, the handsome prince and Jjang of the school who detests Aram, she decides to have a duel with him for the position of Jjang. What will happen next is for you to find out in this romantic comedy Korean manhwa.

ok. i've read too many of this author's works....so many that i can recognize her art style on the spot. so much that the characters blend into one another.

In general, i'm just sick of this author's characters. They all seem to be brainless idiots who only have muscles to prove their worth. And sometimes, they don't even have that much.

But I only gave it a 7 because of how to all turned out. Plot weakened considerably after she got her body back, and characters became too complex and turned inconsistent.

I might elaborate this post later, but I'll say that the story should have ended when Han Seo had his final realization about letting go of Ha Ji. (Vol. 24, p.87)

Thoughts on the final climax of the story (only part I really liked after Ha Ji was in her own body again):

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I liked the shooting scene because it was like the last "intimate encounter" between Ha Ji and Han Seo, where both of them revealed their true natures. I think Ha Ji was really greedy (Han Seo's right hand man saw through her), but I think maybe she was so cunning to the extent that she realized she had to betray Han Seo's trust so he could finally let go of her and live his own life. Han Seo ( regarding the final note about his 'dandelion personality') was much too loyal to even think about putting himself first, and if she had continued to interact with him, he would have, as he said "thrown himself down to hell with her". So I think of it as Ha Ji sparing Han Seo, but yeah, as her actions are super inconsistent afterwards and before this incident, I do think she is a mastermind at manipulating people's faith in her; she only failed to satisfy her desires because she revealed herself to be unreasonably greedy in the end. In short, Han Seo escaped her and I am sort of glad about that, even though I feel bad for all the emotional trauma she inflicted on him (well he did sort of get revenge by doing all the things he did - which, if Ha Ji was manipulating him, was justified)

The real protaganist should have been Han Seo. I wanted to know more about him and his issues and how he met his right hand man than what Ha Ji wanted for dinner and Sin Uoo's inability to be honest.

If any of you have read the authors many works, you would find this to be a mix of everything.

Typical drama, over-dramatic moments, confusion, regret, tragedy, rage, violence, rape, murder, pity and sympathy. Her characters display so much emotion (especially the males), so much selfishness and so much flippant attitudes that you can't really take them seriously half way. Though I must admit, out of many of her works, this was the best overall. The character basis wasn't so bad, although it got pretty draggy, and unoriginal about volume 15+, with lots of meaningless drama and circulation around the same topic, it ended well in my eyes (which is quite unlike many other works). The large climax of the story, was actually pretty okay. A small twist, and it made a show that everyone was selfish, and that Ha Ji wasn't totally stupid (although, to be honest..she really was stupid...).

Many like this, and I do believe it was amusing, just how many times did Ha Ji pay the hospital a visit? It was many. And her quirkiness was a good point, just that it got annoying when situation after situation the characters seemed to say the same things, just the setting changed (lol).

I wouldn't say the story is bad, the author just likes really pained heroines that go through a lot of psycho bat shit, but seem to keep their innocence intact. So on the up note, this was in my eyes the most optimistic, happiest, most generally equal footing with men (she was strong, and had fights to prove it! Nor did she worry about gender roles like so very very very MANY of the other heroines) and luckiest heroine that Hwang Mi-Ri has produced so far (from what I have read).

Hot Blooded Woman had been one of the first manhwa I had read. It had me right from the beginning. Initially the characters might give off the warning signs for cliché and mediocrity for those that want everything dished out from the get-go. In a way it was. Haji gives off a cool aura but afterward it seemed to disintegrate. People are left wondering where that ice mama on the motor bike went. By paying attention to a certain mind reader's comments one can see where a character's personality begins and their facade ends. The characters shape the story.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I say facade but with Haji it's less of a facade and more of an unhealthy unwillingness to face the truth. It's as if she represses it for later despite it being implied multiple times by her closet friends that she's acting the whole time. The author just couldn't make that seem completely the case for me..

The art itself is pretty decent and even better considering the other works posted under the same name. I love it when the characters get a shadowy effect on their features which serves to point out their hidden intention or angst. For the most part they are distinguishable from one another.

Read it for the laughs than anything else. The romance won't do anything more than make you giggle. The relationships might give one a small thrill and they seem to zig-zap between humorous and borderline disturbing. Conversely this isn't for someone seeking gore, high levels of violence, or genius thinking, nor is it for one that wants an easy read. The conclusions aren't over the top and spontaneous which is unusual for shoujo genre. It touches on the higher thinking of an adult but never graps it.

Please note that I was much younger when I first read this. As a child I stayed up late at night to finish reading it. It made my head spin and my stomach flip. Older I still find it enjoyable but I can point out several things wrong. This is more touched upon in this site's user review. Also, I DIDN'T come across these observations AFTER reading the translator's note (or the review for that matter). It just cemented in my mind that others could come to the same conclusion. Others might disagree and that's fine and dandy.

This one of the best mangas I had read so far.
You see, most of the characters in the story wear some kind of mask. For example, Sin Uoo Park... he wears a calm face and hides his true form just like everyone else, but for the female lead it's different. Ha Ji's poker face is her stupidity... She acts like she doesn't know at all but of course she knows well...
I guess the author tried to put a little twist in the late chapters...
Welll... I really liked it! Especially the ending.... :3

This is not for everybody. It is violent and dramatic to the extreme. The character can be so incredibly stupid that she makes you want to beat your head against the first available hard surface. The story sometimes drags on a tad too long (but i must say that i was never bored).
That being said . . . i Loved this story! It was different and entertaining.
It was so funny! I laughed so hard my stomach hurt! I do admit that once the bodies were switched back it wasnt as funny (mainly because the bringer of death wasnt there anymore- i loved him!) However it was funny through out the series it just got slightly less amusing.
I LOVED the bringer of death's funny commentary and facial expresions! They killed me!
It also got WAY more dramatic after the bodies switched back. which is not altogether a bad thing but a little less drama would have been better.
The characters were very memorable and lovable. They were rounded and well thought out characters who you couldnt help getting attached to.
All in all a very entertaining read.

The first 11 chapters of Hot Blooded Woman is the most hilarious thing you can read. I am nothing like the main character Ha Ji but I loved the story to death and found it romantic, funny, and somewhat well developed compared to the higher majority of shojos. The story was great and really kept me hooked. Once the talking ghost disappears, Aram is no longer causing trouble, and the bodies are switched back, there is nothing really interesting left to the story. The volume 11 ending was really good enough and if it had ended there it would've been a satisfying place to stop, so that's where I stopped. No complaints there biggrin

dont get me wrong if i REALLY LIKE a manga i will go to hell and back to read a new chapter and i will read 400 chapters and enjoy every one and not get tired of it. it wasent that this was a bad manga either. it was great! i loved the story line and plot! so even tho i knew getting into it i wouldn't finish it (cuz i dident have ALL the elements i like in a manga) i had to start it anyways cuz the plot was to allureing. the lead male gets on my nerves a bit. only a little bit tho. but it is saying a lot sense i love the jerk types in mangas usally but this guy isent a jerk he is just .... -_- it really is good but the drama is way to intense for me. i love a LITTLE drama but there are so many twists and such and im only on chapter 50. D: i dident want to be there when the author started getting desperate to keep the audiences attention and started throwing in REALLY crazy twists. the arts nice. plots great. its a good read if your into dramas

Love this story so much It was the funniest story that I ever read - I laugh so hard that I even could`t sleep. Ha ji is my favorite female lead - strong character that doesnt change under males preassure without any melodramatic effects that I hate in Shoujo
However I think this is the best work of this author so far I tried to read other stories from her but get bored very quickly
