Description
The sea in our world has been polluted. All sort of trash were thrown into the sea, making it unpleasant deep under the sea. One of the inhabitant of the sea, Ika Musume (Squid Girl) seeks to exact revenge on humanity for throwing trash into the sea. Clueless about the surface, she seeks to invade humanity alone, trying to rule over the world, only to find herself slaving away at one of the nearest beach-houses for breaking a side of its wall.

Good short paged comedy

The chapters are short, but they are enjoyable. It's a slice of life comedy manga, with a somehow unconventional main character, quite well done in my opinion. Check it.

it's enjoyable! some older readers might find it a bit simplistic in the art and story section...it is a very clean manga both artwise and storywise...no fanservice that i've noticed (thank god) and the jokes are pretty harmless

to tell you the truth the whole manga feels like something out of a kodomo magazine and not a shounen publication....the very cute round faces, the simple and clean artwork without much detail or many lines, the episodic storyline....what more proof do you need? its probably something that targets 12-13 yr olds with a childish simplistic approach but i wouldn't be surprised if it was in a kodomo mag...

BUT that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's charm...i quite enjoy it and i don't see any faults....for what it is, a simple gag manga, it's not bad at all

I guess I like this so much because its like the Yotsuba anime i never got. A young girlsquid is immersed into a world in which she wished to conquer, but undershot the population - and ends up making friends and learns about what its like to live above the sea. many girly things happen, squids have never been so adorable.

Quick jokes, but the chapters are short. Characters are enjoyable, but over-the-top jokes have a tendency to take center stage. Altogether, an enjoyable series for comedy enthusiasts.

i always wondering if i would explore more about Ika musume's secret ability, past, or even for just adult form of her. i really like how smoothly the moral lessons are inserted within the comedy. Hope to see mangaka's next work. Until then ♥.

I laughed and smiled throughout this manga. It's true that it has an aura of kidstuff entertainment, but it's very good kids stuff. The main character is drawn with absolute maximum possible cuteness, and in that respect the manga reminds me of "Yotsuba!", as someone else mentioned. I don't think this is material that can hold the sustained interest of a grown-up, but it has a part to play, just like Yotsuba! You can read it episodically to enjoy the amazing cuteness and the funny gags when you need tor relax and pass a good time.

This is an A+ "light reading" series. There's a ton of it, it's all pretty but not EXTREMELY funny, it's cute and the chapters are short. I wrote a lengthy review on the series further explaining my thoughts; basically, this is a series I like to have around whenever because it's so damn easy to read. Joyful fun.

this manga is extremly cute in a way . . . . but sadly i have to agree with huhwhat

but they treat poor ika like a slave, they are never really nice to her, sometimes they treat her like a human being instead of a pet or a thing but its quite rare in comparison. its really horrible in that sense.
the most horrible thing is that they treat her that way even thou she have never harmed anyone, shes ignorat and they abuse that fact badly, i's horribly sad

The whole point of this manga is to throw a joke character at a serious environmental issue. Then do everything in humanity's power to punish her for doing nothing wrong. It's frustrating to see her get short-handed every chapter, and they never give her a break.

It's like watching Greenpeace members shoot themselves. Sure, we all have a good laugh... but at what cost?

It's like a cross between Sgt. Frog and Yotsuba& with all of the sadism and none of the charm. The attempts at humor mainly fall flat. Either this is just not my thing or it just sucks. Or possibly both.
