Lovely Manga, i freaking adored it. i was pretty skeptical at first (the cover of a manga is what usually draws me in) but don't let it fool you, that art grows on you & gets better, & it turns out to be a beautiful story~. I definitely recommend it<3!

This series was kind of enthralling for me weirdly enough. I say its weird because the art wasn't exactly my favorite (i.e. I really had second thoughts about reading the manga when I first saw the artwork) and the story was a bit drawn-out for my personal tastes.
The reason for my absolute interest and undying devotion: Ding Jiaya (the main female lead). This may be the first time that I've liked and could relate to a female lead. I always find myself irritated with female leads because mangaka often make them unrealistically headstrong or innocent or weak or happy or stubborn or some other character that normal people have in real life just never to the extent that they're endowed with in the manga. Her personality was just so admirable, strong and REALISTIC: naive, bright, playful, but then when something really made her sad, she actually let herself wallow in it for a quite a bit before someone was able to pull her out of it. Ryan (our wonderful mangaka) had to have known someone like her in real life to be able to create a character with such a lasting impression.
Something else I loved about our female lead:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
She was willing to explore her options. Yes, she loved Yung Jo more than anyone else, but she didn't completely shoot down Aiwen when he made his feelings for her known. Of course she wasn't going to end up with him in the end, but she was willing to acknowledge that she liked him and seriously consider her options in a relatively realistic manner. I'm so very tired of lead female manga characters not even considering anyone else when it IS NOT working out with the main guy.

My annoyance with the manga: Yung Jo (the main male lead). Don't get me wrong: I love a headstrong, arrogant male lead in my manga, but sometimes he just went a bit too far for me.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
As in he just wasn't willing to apologize for anything he did to her and that really pissed me off because Jiaya loved, admired, and understood him too much to really demand one.

Besides my one little annoyance, the manga was GREAT. Of course, it gets slow at times (what manga that lasts for 15 volumes doesn't drag a bit at parts?), but the bit of dragging is the price we pay for a really memorable manga.

I gave it a 10 smile

Not complex enough for me

Half way through the first few chapters I already knew how this was going to end. This really was good just not that original. It had a tendency to drag at times and I feel that several chapters could have been left out and you till would have gotten the same effect. Over all the art was well done which is what kept me coming back for more.

I liked the manga...though it was very slow at times, and got a little repetitive. I actually skipped a couple of chapters and even pages within chapters and still understood what was going on. Truthfully some of the characters that appeared were unneeded and some loose ends remainded but overall this was a nice manga. I liked the ending too. I felt bad of aiwen, but I am supportive of the main couple even if both of them have a few missing screws.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I do think most of their problems would have been resolved if he said 'I love you' while she was awake, but never the less he did say it I guess.

I do have to say I love both the mother and father of Jiyau. They crack me up! I died laughing at some parts.
The art is okay, its not the best art I have ever seen but the character's personalities made up for it. So not to many complaints here... biggrin

But you see, at volume one, you immediately get dragged into the story without much preamble at all. Then there's this suckiness at continuity. Like, things just suddenly happen without any reason at all and without much introduction. All that's left is something like "this is what happened. you just have to accept it and read it." Yung Jo has too much mood swings that it doesn't even make sense. Jiayin is too idiotic at times (even though I really admire her for her passion), like she just has to do it just for the sake of making something happen.

The characters (old and new ones) just come and go as they please. The scenery/location just changes *poof* and you're left with this "what?" feeling.

So basically, the storytelling sucks, and the characters just get dragged around making stupid choices just to get it going.

When I started reading this, I had so-so expectations. When I read a few volumes, those expectations dropped a bit and I was just expecting a light, interesting read. After around 10 volumes, I couldn't take it anymore. As much as I'm interested in what's gonna happen, the manhua's not making it easy for me to read through it to satisfy said interest.

Summary: I don't recommend wasting your bandwidth, disk space, and time just to read this. Go find something else. Something better.

I was thoroughly enjoying this story until around volume 12 or 13. I'm not sure how can Yung Jo claim to love Jiayu while simultaneously being such a total jerk. In addition, for being such a playboy, he's really awful at handling women. The chemistry between them was incredible before, but now it's really sort of deteriorated into romantic-tension-squabbles-without-romance. I'm kinda disappointed. sad

That said, the art was pretty, the research good, and it held my attention for a whole day, which is pretty awesome. So I gave it an 8. =D

I just recently found this and I'm loving it!!! Its slightly original yet it also incorporates various themes from different shoujos eg Skip Beat! and The One. Its realistic and the romance isn't too mushy.. it's just right!!!
The artwork - meh I've seen better but its the story that's keeping me captivated =].
Anyone looking for something good to read I highly recommend this!

First I was hesitant to start reading this series, seeing the comments on it and all, but I did eventually and my reaction was like WOW! I mean seriously, the plot is awesome, you just can feel the mangaka knows his/her stuff. I even learned a few photography techniques from it XD !!!
The art isn’t bad at all, and you can clearly see how its gets even better.
The characters are interesting and funny, but also have their woes. They're so, well, not boring! The balance is just great! And right now I am really in major suspense about what will happen next, I am in matter of fact so excited that I started reading it all over again!
I think it’s a plot that'll keep surprising the reader. So I definitely recommend it to everyone!

Ambrosia Scans, Eden, Esthetique, Thank YOU!!

Just recently, I had read it out of mere curiosity, without usual expectation.
Wow, it captured my whole heart & soul like thunderous lightning~!
I reaaally FALL HEAD OVER HEELS with both the amazing characters: Yung Jo & Ding Jiayu. They were beautifully created with individual strengths & weaknesses in such marvelous realism that'd draw us closer with empathy. After all, we could identify personally with human flaws & the extraordinary spirit of determination.

I thank you, Pirol & MissRaw for your passionate & genuine sincerity of writing your review. I truly feel sheer delightful & HAPPY to know that there too are a plenty of loving fans who do cherish this GREAT manhua: Ingenuo. *Many tight hugs for you two*
Oh, one special BIG BEAR HUG for you, MissRaw! Well, it's because I'd found yuri21's review HIGHLY UNPLEASANT.

As well, I'm genuinely appreciative of several reviewers who put in something a little positive & balanced even if it's not their very best favorite one. Thank you.
A BIG THANK YOU!! to other reviewers who ardently love it like I do, too. =)

yuri21,
Sorry, I don't understand your LONG review. At least, what I can easily deduce from that so far is that it sounds pretentious like as if you're trying to be sharply intellectual, showing that you do know almost all of something in between. To the naked eyes, you're subtly bluffing.
Also, on the contrary of your assumption about your review being truly objective, I could obviously see it sorely lacking in analysis' clarity in a million of miles.
Objectively, it'd not sell like HOT cakes in some journal magazines, failing the test of human heart. No, I'm not saying that objective critique is wrong.

Ambrosia Scans, Eden, Esthetique,
I thank YOU from the bottom of my heart to give us all this sparklingly-beautiful love story.
Esthetique,
For the first time, I'm quite a bit strongly anxious to see how the reunion of Jo & Jiayu would look like when they finally met in New York City.
Sure, I shall be patient, waiting graciously for the next vol.11 to upload at Mangatraders.
My encouragement for ya: Do your absolute best! =)
