Description
Sixteen-year-old Nene Kashiwagi has undergone a transformation from a sporty girl to a chic one--or, at least, she's trying to become chic so that she can finally find love! Her efforts only gain her teasing from her (former) friend, Jun Endou. But when Nene's first attempt at finding love goes awry, Jun steps in to rescue her in the most unexpected way.

Its starts out really promising. And then it just goes downhill for me. The only character that I really liked was Nene. Her character is very well rounded and dynamic. On the other hand, the love interest, not really. He's a flat character. His personality is all over the place and not in a very positive way. The art is well drawn though! =)

8 chapters is probably too short of a time to include a decent love triangle drama and then have it end satisfactorily. I'm not sure if it's the case, but the drama and the subsequent ending seemed very forced; this leads me to believe as if this series got axed earlier than anticipated (like halfway through or maybe even by the third chapter, and was given 4-5 more chapters to complete). The art is great, but the storyline lacks depth (you hardly learn a thing about many of the characters, so you end up not really caring for them).

What drove me (and I suspect for others) through the 8 chapters was that initial impression of a strong, female lead in the first chapter. However, after 2-3 more chapters, things just happen somewhat matter-of-factly; I felt as if the mangaka didn't have enough chapters to elaborate on specific things she may have wanted to (i.e., the superhuman strength, or 'sporty' past prceeding the transformation, or why Endou is even described as Kashiwagi's a 'former friend').

Moving on to L-DK next...

The only thing I liked in this series is Nene. There should be more shoujo leads like her. Also, I wished there was more about Kanemaru. He seemed like the type of character I would love. :">

Well, that's disappointing.

Nene was a great main character, filled with tons of promise. She cried, but she always tried to do something about her tears, rather than just wallow in them. Unfortunately, Endou totally doesn't deserve her -- he's a pretty horrible person. I don't condone their relationship. Just like choirin's review said, I would've prefered Kanemaru to sweep in, haha. And Izumi really is an awful b*tch. Egads. XD

So, basically, the only nice things about this manga are Nene and the artwork.

especially since scans are only on chp 4~~~

i like the drawings, especially the hands...art is above average!
story is average//dramatic..
what really got me is the main character...she's strong-willed and genuinely cares for the guy's happiness, so she roots him on even when it hurts her on the inside..she doesn't blush when she doesn't have to too, unlike other manga girls =w=

one of the worst shoujo mangas i've ever read. the story line is irritating and the characters are pathetic. and yet i finished it because i wanted to see how it would end - there really are no redeeming qualities to this manga.

Izumos little schemes were hilarious. This was all so funny...I just couldnt take anything happening seriously. Izumo had absolutely zero reasons to try and this take this guy from the heroine. She was only the device thrown in to complicate the 2 main characters relationship. She did a good job. Honestly....the last scheme was the funniest. I mean, all her plans to split them up were lamely executed. My only thoughts for each chapter were ''How will Izumo screw up their relationship this time?" I had a little fun with this one. Nothing to be read twice though. Im not giving it that much credit. Loved the main character.

The first chapter (especially because of Nene) was great and that's what made me read the rest of the manga but I didn't expect the rest to be so disappointing. I'm frustrated about the fact that the guy is VERY indecisive and in the end, it was all Nene that had the courage to get their relationship back together. I'm angry about Jun not putting too much effort into their love. He's so stupid. He doesn't deserve Nene at all. Izumi was dumb too.

too bad I didn't read the reviews before reading the entire series. Shouldn't have wasted my time. Jun is such an ass, he is so indecisive. Its like any thing is okay as long as it benefit him. Its all about how selfish Jun is. Nene totally is screwed up for insisting on going for him. He should be knocked in the gut. Stupid.

Good art, though it'd be nice if Jun and Nene could do more character development. They're still largely two-dimensional. I don't blame the author, though, considering it's only 8 chapters long.

Izumi had potential, but because there wasn't significant resource devoted to explaining her behaviour, she becomes more a plothole and liability than an intriguing spin.

In general, it was a forgettable read. Jump in if you're bored and have a few hours to burn, or if you're desperate to increase your complete list count.
