I liked it! Its not fast paced and the characters are unique and interesting.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I wish the main girl had ended up with the other guy :(

As for the ending I think it is purposely left open to interpretation.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The translator suggests that the young boy was the son of the older character, but I was thinking maybe the father of the older character... which might make more since

The art is very manhwa-esque but a bit unrefined. I like the profiles though. Overall enjoyable manhwa!

not too sure? i mean, not because it's confusing, i would have been able to figure out the twist even without the note at the.. i mean, even though i want to know how in the world that happened, but.. hmm.. their feelings, especially the older brother's, were confusing. although, in a way, i think i know how he really felt.

like in the earlier comment, i really liked the colored pictures in the beginning too.. pretty.. the art takes a little getting used to, but it's pretty good too.

it's different, and has an almost.. a light air to it, that the main girl brings. i can't explain it. i think it's because it is NOT overdramatic like other series, which i appreciate a lot. (: so a very subtle read that you will blow through.

although it somewhat lacks a definite conclusion, i quite like it. you know where they're heading, and it's not like kim jeong eun stopped it too short, or went to far. it's like.. getting a glipse into someone's life.. very realistic, in my opinion. .. well, somewhat!

Decent characters, but some parts are quite confusing. Decent ending, but without the scanlator's notes, I would have not been able to understand it. Hence the rating that is below a 7. The characters were drawn quite well (bishies), yet they are not memorable. I would have given a 5 except for the
fact that there was one hella of a twist and the colored pages that started off all the volumes were exceptionally beautiful.

What kind of an ending was that? Wow.. and I was eating, too.
Well, interesting and entertaining.
Also very strange, but that's what makes it funny.

Different and somewhat poetic/atmospheric

I've never read any other manwha/manga like this. The story is intriguing and the art is nice, even if it's not very polished. The beautiful old-time environments and atmosphere are portrayed nicely - it's set around World War 2 and the clothing and street-life is nicely done. The characters are real and sympathetic, all with their own problem and worries. They are portrayed in a subtle way and not in your face - such as Soran's fear of loneliness and abandonment, and the older brother's cold-heartedness, all of which would be explained and could be understood as the story progressed. There are many twists and turns in the story and many things aren't always what they appear to be - many of which you would never guess. The story is set out in a rather artistic way too and I liked the flow of the story, it never dragged and nothing in it seemed like filler at all. The theme of this manga is very nice and I thought the conclusion was good - it makes you think and it's not cheesy which is a very good thing. Things aren't as sugar-coated as in other mangas, so it's not like the majority of shoujo out there - there is romance although not as extreme and unrealistic. The only fault I could really say about this manga is how the heroine is made to break the fourth wall from time to time and it feels odd in such a story. But generally, although not as polished as other manwhas, this one has substance.

Edit: After reading this for a second time, I find that it had psychological elements to it, because it struck me as somewhat of a character study (except in this case, almost of the whole cast) of why people act the way they do and such (if you cared to pay attention and understood). I guess that is one of the reasons why I liked this so much.

Familial affairs

A story about a girl who has never had a family and how circumstances lead her to become a part of one (a rather dysfunctional one). She finds out the secrets causing cracks in the family and tries to help them, and in the process, searches for someone to call her own. It's seems pretty interesting on the outside, and it is; but slow plot development make this tedious to read. The art isn't that impressive. Read it if you wanna kill boredom.

The fine line of love & hate ...

I believe that sums up this story! I really enjoyed reading this manga. I don't agree with a lot of the previous comments, but that is just my opinion. Each to his/her own. I did not mind the ending. Too bad there was not more, but it was alright in its own way. Pride can be a cumbersome feeling at times, as seen in some of the male characters. Read and judge for yourself.

I like this story, it's cute and funny. The art may not be super good, but it's okay. The story takes twist and turns and what you think may be is not. The ending is not mushy but seems different. It's not like your typical Shoujo where the main girl is an idiot, but this character is smart and funny.

Storyline: So incomprehensible that occasionally the scanlators need to make notes in the margins to remind you who's who.
Art: Disproportionate and amateurish.
Misc: Tries to be comedic by having the heroine break the fourth wall, but this isn't a comedy. It feels inappropriate.

Should probably give this one a miss.
