Fantastic by BadassOtaku on November 20th, 2009, 9:36am

At first i picked this out because of the cool title, before finding it had so much more to offer. Great characters, interesting & funny plot plus ridiculously cool action make it the best manhwa out of korea since shin angyo onshi and maybe of all manhwa and manga of its genre. Oh, and the best and most consistent art i have ever seen. EVER>_<

Omg, I love this manhwa, the art and the story. I like it that although the main character is sometimes beaten (hmm...okay, more than sometimes) but we still can see that he becomes stronger and stronger and he can win something or make u think "wow"... I actually don't like those manga/manhwa/whatever where they always talk and talk that mayyybeee in the future the main char. will be something... but all we can see is just how he fails...

I didn't like the premises when my friend told me about it but he said just read it, give it a shot. So I did and man was I impressed. The drawing is so fantastic and the story is amazing and by chapter 41 you are in love with the protoganist. He turns into such a bad ass.

This is getting addicting by Yumcha on November 17th, 2009, 4:22am

Just read the latest chapter (ch. 41) and holy crap Shinwoo becomes such a bad ass!! If you are looking for an underdog story without any overly complicated plot line then this manwha is just for you.
The art is fantastic, fight scenes are expertly drawn, there's even a bit of romance! What more could you ask for?
And whilst at first the protagonist annoys you, he starts to get more assertive/dependable once the story progresses.
A top manwha!!

Very Nice by Kieon on November 9th, 2009, 10:57pm

it doesn't have the typical cool and mysterious strong teachers like almost all action mangas do. there are unique characters mixed with fan service. the rivalry that's being created between the main character and the hot shot genius is very interesting. the main character can't always start out strong, starting with the history of a very odd case of a martial artist in to a legend is cool as well. the main character gets a pill that provides him a god-like spirit energy like power boosts in many other manga, but with good reason, the main character has a weak body and can't possibly use martial arts with out it. having a manipulative woman on the protagonists side rather than the bad guys side is interesting, we always see manipulative snitches as the bad guy, but seeing them on the side of good is very unique. and it views the martial arts world in a made belief political stand point much like Veritas, but with more realistic martial arts. (veritas has people controlling fire and stuff which is cool but not realistic)

ugh, this could be a great manga, but i cant stand that chick flashing her boobs at people. what is her problem? cant she see no one is interesting in looking at her. she is pathetic... i also think the "master" of the main character is cool, most of the time. i hate when he starts acting like an idiot. it would be better if he was one of the cool and mysterious characters...

Doh, droped the reality. by Kracid on October 11th, 2009, 12:04pm

One thing that annoys me is how he had an easy ride to becoming strong. Annoys me. I liked how his will to get stronger made him start running and doing some conditioning. Not only because thats an amazing thing for a person to do, but the fact that, that can happen in reality. But then they gave him a the drug and he gained a bunch of power out of no where. But i guess thats to be expected from a manga. As far as storyline and images, i give a 8.5. Probably should be higher.
Definetly a good read. Havent finished it though. |

Hajime Ippo x Bleach x GTO by JHax9999 on October 7th, 2009, 8:33pm

The male lead becomes such a badass! I'm so glad I did not listen to gorillaman21's comment and skip this manhwa. The guy obviously did not read more than a few chapters before dropping this manhwa. Shinwoo might be weak at first, but this is an underdog story... what did you expect? It's boring if Shinwoo is all strong and courageous right off the bat. That kinda thing comes with character development. After a few chapters, you will come to see Shinwoo in a new light... and then it'll be impossible not to get pulled in by his story. Although his master is awesome and powerful, I like Shinwoo more because he has such inner strength and fortitude. The way he changes from a weakling to someone brimming with courage and passion is incredible to see. Trust me, this character will not disappoint! Just stick around for a volume or two and you will see what I mean. ============================================ If I were to liken this manhwa to other previous works, I would say that it's like "Hajime Ippo." You have this kid who's been severely bullied for a long time. He hates himself for not being able to stand up to the punks who torments him, but he doesn't have the ability or skills to fight back. In comes this teacher, who's a total badass, a pervert and an incredibly powerful fighter. In order to change himself, Shinwoo begs his new teacher to teach him martial combat. From here, the rest is history.
This manga is great because it has the deep, epic feel of mangas like Bleach...the comedic sense of mangas like GTO (that is the only likeness since the story goes in a totally different direction)...and the strong, emotional/spiritual depth of mangas like Hajime Ippo. If you like any of the above works, there's no way you can pass this up!

This is a really good Manhwa. The pacing is extreamly well done, things go slowly, but steadily develope. It doesnt feel rushed, yet every chapter is interesting and pulls you in deeper in the intricate world the authors are creating.
The drawings are by far some of the best iv seen out there, the characters have some really unique personality's. This is a definit recommendation to any one who knows how to apreciate good manhwas.
