Hi, my name's John and I had the pleasure of translating Witch Boys! for the Digital Manga Guild. I had a blast doing it and I've really gotten attached to the characters. Their stories are really interesting as there's some sort of clever twist in every chapter. I'll admit we struggled a bit to get this localization done. At first I was kind of translating literally because I come from automotive industry translation, where the details, facts, and what people actually said is more important than narrative. But then, I took a bit more liberty with the narrative, drawing from "How to Write for Comics" type of books than technical translation techniques. After that, the writing got a whole lot better and the stories keep getting more interesting. I'm really looking forward to having Volume 2 done in a little bit. Thanks to Baka-Updates for featuring this manga. It means a lot to those of us who worked to bring it into English.
