As far as I'm concerned this is the best new shoujo manga out in 2008. It just doesn't get any better than this. Okay, I have a bias for pseudo-historical stories anyway, but this is so brilliant and imaginative and charming. The heroine is truly a genuine character, full of spunk but also a decent girl with a caring heart. Her brother's something of an eejit, but in that way brothers can be (lol can you tell I have one too?). All the other characters are great and above all the artistic detail and the plot and just the IDEA of the story are all perfect. At first the whole sister-disguised-as-male-twin thing seems stereotyped but this is the most original take on it I've ever seen, trust me. Madcap silly capers ensue.

Give this one a go, you won't regret it.

As a reader of the light novels which the manga is based from, I can say that the manga will get a lot more interesting and heart-throbbing. The cross-dressing doesn't last for the whole story unlike some other mangas, which is a plus since I preferably want to see Mireille as a girl.
It has a sufficient amount of comedy and romance, but I was wondering why it's labeled as 'Harem'... There's only Richard who I see as a possible love interest.
Anyway. The art is simply amazing and you want to read more!
There are a few boring chapters but if you know what happens in the novel, you'll expect something good!

I picked up the series when I was just randomly browsing last year, but now I'm irreversibly hooked. Although it has a kind of predictable plot, the story is still lined with surprises and twists! I feel that the world and setting is very well thought out. The story is just well woven!
Because it's based on a novel, well a series of them anyway, I even went on and bought all the books... Because it's really worth reading, no kidding.
Plus, there're eye candy... ^^ Who wouldn't like Richard! D: He's just too good-looking! /swoons
And there's still Fred, Zeke, etc... /drools

Predictable shoujo romance manga, with lots of blushing and teasing but nothing ever happens, satisfying the "status quo is good" comedy trope. The story setup is alluring though, and it would be interesting to see what would have happened next.

I can't happen to be disappointed, especially with those high ratings, maybe I just like historical manga to be more mature, like Otoyomegatari, Basara or red river.

It had promise at first. I liked concept and the first couple of chapters lived up to promise. Then the whole original plot changed and it devolved into a forced Shoujo and even more forced comedy. I give it a higher ranking then my comments suggest because it is not fully scanned yet and despite everything its an enjoyable read but its easily forgettable.

It was good at first. An MC that was tough and practical but once she entered the palace it went downhill. She became the cliched damsel in distress. She couldn't fight for herself but is willing to fight for others; and someone would miraculously rescue her. The plot wasn't good but the drawings were okay.

...the ending is different. First of all, I really like the art, everyone looks handsome and pretty. I like the characters and of course the story as well. Personally I'm happy with Richard and Mireille's relationship development as the story grows and I thought Mireille's airhead-ness will go away soon after but unfortunately it remains until the end and nothing happened. Richard loves her but she couldn't quite get what love really is. She's totally unconscious of it and I expected more at the end, but left with a disappointment. But well...it's a good manga for you to enjoy over a cup of tea.
