A Solid Collection
Rating: 8.0 / 10.0

This collection isn't really Kayono's best, but it's a solid work, nonetheless. The self-titled first chapter is my favorite of the volume. The male lead is quite sexy and the female lead is likable. It also has a solid enough plot, especially for a one-shot. "Ancient Osaka Masquerade Ball" was cute, but the naked guys at the club were a little too over-the-top for my tastes. It kinda seemed like a gay club or something! Not too sexy for a straight girl wink "This Love by Anonymous" just didn't do it for me. I just couldn't get into either of the characters and their romance just kind of left me uninterested. "Bishura" is a nice one-shot. It's more reminiscent of the first story than the other two. I didn't really care for the male lead, which detracted from the story a bit for me. It was alright, but just only that.

In all, this is a good collection for any Kayono fan, but I wouldn't recommend it as a starter course for anyone who isn't familiar with her work already. For that, I would recommend "Princess Man & The Magic Lamp".

I love the artwork in the stories. It's so beautifully done. You can tell that the mangaka loves using bold colors and patterns. The first story is my favorite. Chen is an awsome character and the story line was really good. I wish that there would have been more added to this story. All of the guys are total bishies...And who doesn't love bishies?!?!
