Good Concept, Poorly Done

This is "hard" science fiction, which means the concept is what counts, and provides the punch. Still, to convey the concept there must be two essential characters on the scene: someone we like, and someone to explain what's going on, as all the massive techno-wonderfulness and firepower is generated and displayed. Here the creator of the story didn't bother to provide those characters, as far as I can see, so I find the story hard to follow or care about.

On the other hand, I have ADHD or something like it, so my attention is not the best. Someone able to follow the story better may love it.

Really liked it

This series is action packed with continuous scenes, no cliffhangers and very little space for much thought other than what you see at first. But then again, it doesn't do a bad job at it! The only problem with this series is that it could've become so much more specially:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the noah's ark-like goal and not really that important but it would be a nice touch if the author would've gone in depth with the experiment and explained a little bit more about the monsters

Wish they could've given a little more room for character development since the feelings of the special soldiers (and I'm not saying anything more specific since it would be spoiling) change drastically and doesn't let the reader appreciate the contrast.

Either way, this series was really fun and I really liked it and I wish it would've become more.

Wasted

Soldier has life wasted by officer, soldier returns to life as monster in search of revenge, action ensues. Sounds like a great action packed story right? It is, but its bungles the execution.

Half the story is actually spent following a pair of random soldiers trying to survive between the monster attacks and a psychotic civilian. The other half of the story is mostly played out via a series of confusing and poorly conveyed action scenes where the military tries to fight off the monster.

Lacking...

Read all 3 volumes a while back. The ideas are interesting but just not carried out very well. The character development is poor and the design for the culture and settings range from cliche to bland. There's really not a lot to say about it, that's why I think the best way to describe it is to say it's 'Lacking'.
