Mei no Naisho revolves around the life of the title character Mei Haruna, an effeminate young boy who was raised by his witch mother as a girl, and always thought of himself as female. His mother was the only family he had, so after she died, he transfers to an all-girls high school and resides in the school's dormitory with his familiar Abel, who is talking cat, and his roommate Fuuka Honjou, who is a member of the public morals committee.

Shortly after arriving at the school, his new friends discover after a magical display in the dormitory community bath that he is actually male, though this comes as quite a shock to him despite him being aware of the physical differences between him and normal girls. Despite him being found out, and after some helpful intervening of the perverted student council president, the principal of the school decides that he can stay at the school.

The next day, Mei comes to school with Fuuka and apologizes for hiding the fact that he was a witch, and informs the others how he is apparently male. The other students quickly accept him as one of their own, and are impressed how he can use magic.

Sort of a Twist....

Since I read Chapter 1 without knowing anything about the title, I thought this was your average harem-laden, ecchi-filled, fanservice-y manga. Well it does have its own share of fanservice (especially since this is in an all-girls school) but it is kind of unique with its own plot twists.
Usually, romance between two girls would either be yuri or plain fanservice goodness but this one's kind of weird...Mei is really a boy after all. And Fuuka seems to like her...or whatever.

Why is not a single raw availble? This series is excelent, Mei is just irresistible with his puppy eyes, and the dominant gilr, well, she is so complement to Mei. I very sad 'cuz the series doesn't sems to be concluded. I only hope we can see the finish

This one actually resembles Otoboku in the way that a boy comes to an all girls' school, however, the magic part and Mei's innocence different. Wonder when Akatsuki manga translate the next chapter. Oh, the author is the mangaka who drew all 3 Shuffle manga so we had same artwork. I actually very thankful for that because I had seen manga spin-offs in the same series with having different aritst, but this is the first time that one same artist takes care of everything. Now after Shuffle!, he created his own story. Cool, huh?

This is a really cute crossdressing manga.
It's kind of like a more typical ecchi series, except the roles are reversed (with the girl falling victim to the boy's charm). Though Mei was raised as a girl, so maybe some psuedo-yuri?

Regardless, Mei is absolutely adorable, and it's just a nice little treat.

Definitly aimed at boys

Anyone who thinks this is aimed at girls is crazy. The whole thing is tease for guys wanting to see some girl on girl teasing. This story is not really worth wasting your time over. There is no depth to the story at all. It's all about cute drawings and the possibility of some perverted scenes.

Feeling empty.

It was cute, but I realized that I really didn't enjoy it. For what exact reason, I'm not sure. Was it because the characters didn't really seem to have "presence", maybe. Was it because the boy didn't become more boy-like, maybe. Was it because there was never really any real men in the story, maybe. I stuck it out until the end because I like to give each mangaka's work a fair shake (No pun intended), but this one deffinetly felt hollow.

Really, it's wonderful !,, This time, the girl acts as the boy's guardian, and the boy acts as the girl, it's really inversed ! The response from the class is also different, usually the boy would be fallen as victim, but not in this case, since she's a very cute girl ! ... ermm sorry, it's a boy !

It's a trap, and not a shounen

I don't care what the publisher of this manga says. Shounen is material aimed at a demographic of young boys. Young boys don't want to see another "girly boy" cross dressing and being molested. Shoujo with a shounen tag.
