Description
Koizumi Kanna is infatuated with the man who came to the restaurant she works at and ordered a burger with no onions. Little does she know, Toujou Ren is interested in her as well, but for a different reason. Kanna just so happens to be the mirror image of a woman he knew a very long time ago. It is for that reason that he saves her when she nearly dies in a car accident. But the life he gives Kanna is far different from the one she lived before, and she's not certain it's the kind she wants...

I won't get too into the plot many reviewers already have but I just wanted to give my opinion. Like many I was intrigued by the aspect of the beginning of this manga, the budding romance and the vampire elements. I also thought the added mystery aspect was really interesting and when explored was quite interesting

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
a serial killer imitating vampires was quite a dark turn for this already dark and serious mange
this hints at our leads pasts was also really interesting. But like many the ending seemed just kind of wrong...there was no real indication of the plot heading into this strange reincarnation territory, but what was more confusing was the Spoiler (mouse over to view)
introduction of gods and the worlds they create, strangely religious for a manga about vampires
I think that the manga-ka bit off a little more than she may have planned and got too wrapped up in the many ideas she had thought up while creating the manga, it almost seemed like she had no firm plan on how she wanted to end the manga. Further more I think she thought she might not get another serial after this and so threw all the elements she could on her canvas. Had she maybe had more time or volumes then maybe this manga would have a more coherent ending. Still I thought and still think the manga holds its own in the elements it has, beautiful art, interesting and complex characters but ultimately being a bit more daring than other manga's of a similar target audience.... Recommend it, but I personally don't like it.

The first 10 chapters had me pumped. As in "YEAH THIS IS GONNA BE SO AMAZING." I really enjoyed the whole vampire thing. I rather liked how she was kind of reluctant to drink blood and once she was used to it, she tried to do it by herself without any help (which didn't go as smoothly as planned).
Once I got to chapter 14, I was like "...ehhh...." I rather disliked the reincarnation part. I mean...vampires AND reincarnations in one manga? That's hard to control.
Then came chapter 16, and then the series just...disappointed me. Such a shame that it was a let down SO close to the end. And the ending was just...wow.
It's not so much that this manga was "terrible" in anyway, but more like...poorly executed.
It was a pretty good read overall. It was different from the usual. Unfortunately, it was TOO different for me, personally, which is why I gave it a low rating.
I'm more of a "happy shoujo" reader, so reading this manga was just too confusing for me.

THis was a freaking amazing plot! In the end I was just blown away and this is definitely not your typical romance. Even though the ending was tragic I like how it was like a game of tag and they seem to have the ending w/ each other no matter what. And yep there's depth in this series, which i appreciate! Love it even for a tragic ending!

from the description I expected it to be more deep than it occured to be, I hardly finished it. As far as I remember (see? I didn't even bother to do so), the male character was sadistic in a way I din't like, while the girl was a typical shojo naively stupid, both were irritating me a lot, they weren't realistic and had no development. I wanted something really psychological, but their relationship was not convincing. the ending was confusing, abrupt, it left the impression of a non-finished plot, a dropped stuff.
The art is lame, what is it with dudes looking 100 % the same as girls? okay, girls were drawn normal, but sometimes while skimming through it gave me a hard time to tell a dude from a chick...
In a few words, it's a read-and-forget manga.

i hate tragedy and vampires but this was still a very memoriable read. (Its actually a wonder i picked this up)
it was actually very memoriable but not for a reason that i liked. it left me with a feeling so sad that i almost felt helpless. this feeling was most likely due to the destiny aspect of the story, in fact i thought this was going to be the first vampire manga i'd like but it stopped being addicting when the destiny crud came in(i really believe that it is what you do that affects you - karma- but i really hate the idea of a predetermined fate).
overall an interesting read worth your time

Fujiwara Kaoru has done it again!
Artwork: Beautiful
Plot: Confusing, but interesting
It's not like it was perfect, though...
I mean, the ending was.... eh.
But it was really a great read.
The recommendations aren't good, so I'll give you some:
If you liked it, read Akusaga, Dolls, Switch, Fetish or Mukashi no Hanashi (the last two are by the author of Vampire Girl).

.. did i say beautiful people? the artwork is amazing! the people are so pretty.
the storyline itself is deep and wonderful in it's own nature. a very refreshing read! both in content, characters, character personalities, and such.
i'll give it a 9, it was missing something i just can't quite place.. but read it! it'll make you think. (at least it made me think~)
not really that significant but..

i was wondering wtf the 'vampire girl' title had anything to do with the story. i was like 'huh?' call me dense, but i didn't even think the story would have anything to do with vampires! XD and if you're reading this before you've read the series, YES THE CHARACTERS ARE VAMPIRES! >D doesn't that make it so much more amazing!? .. of course you might have realized that if you had any common sense, unlike me..

When do they actually remember their vindication? Life is a vicious cycle. History repeats itself and all that crap tied down 90% into the manga's end. That never sits well with anyone.
Could've wished for a better execution. Though I get where the title's coming from now.

I love this manga. The complexity and art is amazing. However, I find the ending extremely unsatisfactory. It was like a kind of anticlimax for me and I would have much preferred something different, even if it's a change from the traditional kind of ending.
