Description
Short with almond-shaped eyes, Yoshida doesn't have any good points appearance-wise so he's definitely not popular. But there are rumors aplenty that Satou already has a lover in the school, so is he just making fun of Yoshida?!

I like the 'sadist' part

Contrary to what some reviewers seem to feel, I very much enjoy Satou's sadistic/bully - behaviour. It's the main point of the story after all. Of course, in real life, nobody would put up with his sh*t more than 2 minutes, but in the manga, it's very well used to heat up the atmosphere and create titillating situations. ;D
So, I enjoy this manga a lot, but I feel it's been dragging lately. The beginning was pretty fast (with Satou

jerking off Yoshida
in the first volume, if I'm not mistaken) and I liked this pacing, it was pretty refreshing (with the kind of 'pure' uke that Yoshida is, I mean). So I'm a bit disappointed that there hasn't been any action lately. Instead they've given us a really weird-ass backstory for Satou -- What's with his weird middle school, really? I can't see any really interesting plot coming out of that. But well, I'll wait and see, and hope for a return to the original sexy atmosphere...

There are SO many unlikable characters in this series! Yoshida is cute and quite a good person, but Satou is completely intolerable to me, as are most of the other characters. The girls are terrible too. Why so many irritating people? It definitely made this less enjoyable. Aside from that, I have only found it mildly amusing and I can't connect with it emotionally. I Have, however, become somewhat attached to Yoshida and actually care what happens to him, so it can't be completely without merit. I wish there were more development. As it stands, not much has changed since the first several chapters, aside from Yoshida being somewhat less shocked/embarrassed all the time. We've learned a bit of Satou's back story, but it was weird and nonsensical in a lot of ways, so it feels disconnected from the rest of the story. I'm not sure what I'm missing or if it's just my age showing.

Really, I could read this one over and over and over again. It's hilarious, and the characters are amazing. The story is a fantastic read with a mix of light and heavy moments. And parts like Satou's back story which could have turned into melodramatic messes are handled with care.

While Yoshida and Satou do follow up to a certain extent the old stereotypical BL couple with the seme being amazing at everything and with the uke being completely weak, I think their personalities makes them stand out amidst other BL crap. I completely love how Yoshida isn't the usual whiny uke who can't deal with his very dominant seme, and Satou has a very dominant personality. Yoshida is adorable as other reviewers have stated, and while some may have trouble with Satou's sadism, I think that it's fairly toned down compared to other sadists in yaoi. I don't think Satou would ever hurt Yoshida in a horrible way or humiliate him. There's very little angst, as Yoshida accepts that he is in a relationship and doesn't sit around, cry, and push back Satou's advances like many of the irritating ukes in BL do. You can tell they're very much in love with each other. It's a heart-warming relationship to me.

The story itself is episodic, but within each episode you get character development and some lovely Yoshida x Satou (keep in mind this is shounen-ai so don't expect anything too explicit). Tanaka Suzuki is one of the few BL authors I've read who is amazing at comedy and is pretty good at drama. AnD is a very funny read, and can be touching at times.

Overall, one of the best shounen-ai I've read, with great characters, lovely relationships, and a very funny story. While I had read some shounen-ai before like Seven Days, this one was really the one that got me onto the BL boat. Also, see if you can listen to the drama cd's - they're really well done.

When Yamanaka is touching Yoshida's face, and says, "Oh, it was an eyelash.", and Yoshida says, "I don't have eyelashes."
I seriously just started cracking up. It's very cute and funny! Read it!

Kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ne~~~~~~!!!!! (-* v *-)
Yoshida is definitely one of the cutest uke from all boy love manga. Haha, he's "My Most Favorite" too ( >___<~ ) <3 lol
The story is very cute, totally different from other manga since the protagonist(uke) is not good-looking, a not pretty one. But his personality counts all.
However, Yoshida is very pitiful since he's quite not good-looking but lives in a society that look matters a lot. I mean, i personally sympathize with him since i'm also Asian and I know that many Asian countries' society values good-looking people.

However, as i read through it, i find Yoshida wasn't that bad-looking. He's actually cute, especially with teary face *evil grin*
I find the seme sometimes too sadistic and too self-centered tho..

Oh well, but they are just very suitable for each other too since Yoshida is very mature and can accepts Satou's bully actions <3<
A very cute and refreshing manga. Totally recommended!!! smile ))

Yoshida is one of the cutest uke of the world.

Waaaowaaaah O.O I totally love this manga... It completly break normal yaoi rules! And i love it! totally funny and original >w< And Satou is a sadist, it's crazy xD

And also, Yoshida is very mature compared to other uke. it is not the type to get sick with envy when Satou is not concerned with him. it's really refreshing.
Especially since there is quite the seme is immature.
it's just like a shojo, but with boys!

I'm glad the BexBoy magazine is published in France.because I'm going to buy the volumes and encourage the author! YEAAAAAY! >w<

I don't quite understand why so many people are rating it 10?
It's kind of unique and I agree that the uke is definitely not "ugly", just hilariously cute.

It might be because of the scans I read, but it seemed like some pages were missing or the story would jump around a little bit before resuming... then jump around some more. I'd enjoy this series a little more if I weren't so confused about what was going on and why the characters are talking about a big event that I didn't see...

Also, there are some parts of the manga that makes me want to facepalm. The rehabilitation center, for example.

well, i don't think yoshida is ugly, but i can see how he might be bullied in a culture in which standing out makes one weird. normally i don't much care for stories where the seme bullies the uke and yet the uke falls in love anyway, nor do i care for those where the uke is unbelievably dense, and where he struggles against any intimacy -- but this one is different somehow. not much different, mind, but sufficiently so to make it stand out positively in a field that's filled with cliche and stupid storylines. for one, yoshida is really adorable; he might be dense but his heart is definitely in the right place. mostly i think it's got to be in the art -- some of the images of satou when he looks at yoshida are really touching. and in volume 4 we finally get a little meat with satou's backstory, and some honest thoughts from him (about how he feels empty), so i am hopeful that future chapters might rise even higher over the mediocrity of standard BL. not rating it yet since it's not complete.

Love "DOKI" or "KYUN" moments in Shojo manga? This may be just the right manga.
There are no long running arcs with dramatic climaxes like in shonen manga. Each chapter has it's own nice plot that contributes very little to the overall story. This is a manga that provides a little relief and pleasure from real life.
Even though Yoshida is supposed to be ugly, let's face it, would anyone actually want to read that? BL manga is about escaping to a world where bishonen's run amok. Yoshida's "squinty eyes" makes him unique and cute. Expressions are drawn wonderfully detailed.
Each volume has at least one chapter which focuses on another pairing. Volume 1 has the one shot story "You're everyone's friend" in a different setting. Volume 2 has 2 short stories on Kazama and Kaitou in a different setting too. In volume 3 there is a chapter on 2 characters' developement in the main story.
Overall this is not for serious reading. The art is standard and the story is average. For me personally, because the plot is vague I can re-read it over and over again and not get bored.

At last a different and unique Shounen-ai. Sure, it's in no way perfect and at times really cliche. But finally there's a Shounen-ai manga that doesn't have a beautiful uke. Seriously, for most of these types of stories the uke is so pretty that he looks like a girl!!!! That just completely ruins the purpose of "boy's" love now doesn't it?
