I liked the whole 'mushroom' tie-in. (I laughed when the mangaka mentioned that she doubts that the poisonous mushrooms would harm Ban.) The concept of having half the DJ from Ban's perspective and then the same events in the second half from Ginji's perspective was genius! I'd like to read more stories like that.
The art was so-so. It didn't move me and it wasn't really art that makes my jaw drop or reaches into my heart. The body shapes seemed awkward at spots, but it was mostly drawn well. It just didn't look much like Ginji or Ban. Maybe I would have liked it more if I wasn't comparing it to the art of the original GB, which I adore. But no, on second thought, I don't think so because Nu and Hijack Your Mind didn't look exactly like Juubei and Kazuki and both those DJs held incredible art! The facial expressions weren't riveting.
The story was so-so too. It didn't reach out and grab me.
The reason I gave it a high-ish rating was for the perspective concept. Definitely worth the read.
PS - Was Ginji the TOP?! Gasp.
