Fairly typical, but enjoyable

I decided to read this manga after seeing Mizuto Agua's work in Yume Kira Dream Shoppe. Although Milk Crown has a typical, predictable shoujo story line, I still enjoyed the crazy characters and their bubbly personalities. It made every day in the story that passes full of excitement and adventure. It's a sweet romance and is kind of cheesy, but others can relate and smile. Milk Crown is a nice manga for light entertainment, reminding us about simple happiness. ^-^

I also like author's artwork, so that helped out.

edit:

The story has actually grown on me; although I said it was typical and predictable, the plot is actually something we can all relate to. Milk Crown gives a bubbly feeling and portrays what love can do. Could be cliche, but it's still very sweet. I gave it an 7.9 originally, but I think it deserves a little more. ~-^

I read the first chapter years ago and was seriously unimpressed - I found the story stereotypical and sugary, didn't like the art and thought the characters were boring. Picked it up again for another go yesterday... and was surprised to find that it wasn't half as bad as I had previously thought. Perhaps I grew more tolerant with age? Or perhaps this is the kind of manga that one should only read if they're in the mood for light, cute shoujo that's romance-focused rather than plot-centric? Either way, I enjoyed Milk Crown as a fun, happy read, but you should leave your expectations at the door.

Firstly, the art. I'm still not a fan of Mizuto Aqua's art. There are some angles at which the characters look good (particularly Jin), but in other panels, it looks like they're either short of hair at the back or their heads were bashed in. Everyone has a wealth of nicely spiked hair at the front, but the mangaka didn't seem to know how to draw the back properly as well. It's something that you get used to as you read, though.

Plot and character-wise... there isn't much to talk about, really. It's basically about Oto moving into a dormitory full of really nice guys to work as their maid. She gets to know everyone and falls in love with our male lead, who's a really strange guy with a shark for a pet. What's refreshing is that everyone (including the male lead) is super friendly, so if you're sick of love triangles, angst and cold jerks, this will be a god-send. We don't find out much about anyone beyond Oto and Jin, but this is essentially a series that banks on cute, fluffy and humorous scenes, so it's not surprising.

hmm so i have started this manga, its ok but strange...
I realized that it has the tag of supernatural which i think is weird since there is no supernatural theme that i am aware of -__-
Does anyone know why this tag is placed?
Hahaha, maybe i am the only one thinking this but it just kept bugging my mind.
Anyway, this is a nice manga and i really hope oto-chan ends up with jin xDDDD

It's too cute and sweet. I love Jin!b the girl is so adorable too....i jsut wish she won't turn into bubble whenever she blush........that act is quite annoying...
it's funny how the girl is so dense she doesn't notice so many guys are in love iwth her.....well Jin sure notices though.....hehe
