I've never seen the idolmaster anime nor any other works of that series. I still managed to enjoy this a fair bit although there was hardly any laughs at all, at most I smiled due to its cuteness and found some parts to be humorous but not enough to warrant any true laughs.

If I had seen the other works, I might've been able to enjoy this more, that's usually the case for stuff like this, so I'll give it a 7/10 instead of a 6/10. It did get a bit monotonous to read after several dozen chapters but not enough to drop it.

The manga itself is about the idols and their puchi versions living together. These puchi versions aren't only cute, they also tend to have special abilities, like one of them can fly, one of them can teleport wherever she wants, one of them can summon animals and monsters when crying. These are just a few of the abilities. This makes it possible to create quite a few amusing situations and I assume there should be a lot of parodying the original, more serious works going on, things that I can't grasp since I haven't seen it.

Recommended if you want something to kill some time with but wants nothing heavy or serious that forces you to think.
