Description
From Wikipedia: This story introduces Takeru who is an average Japanese highschool girl raised in a Buddhist convent by nuns. She has been experiencing reoccurring nightmares about the Witchblade calling out to her. This is due to the secret that the temple houses within, the Witchblade sealed inside a box. Furthermore, her lineage keeps an unknown connection with the mystic artifact and the folklore of the Oni, hence explaining Takeru's strong attraction to the gauntlet which is locally called Oni no te (鬼の手, "Hand of Oni"). Ultimately, Takeru's life suffers a drastic change when she becomes the next bearer of the Witchblade due to some circumstances that force her to randomly encounter it.
It could be better, but it feels more like a generic forced mixture of Japanese cliche rather than an attempt of making a good alternative story. As @Aikanaro said, you cannot bring yourself to care about the main characters, probably because they are underdeveloped. The ending was also sad but it brings hope that things will return to how they were. A comment about the art:When Takeru transforms you feel like the manga worth your time. But when she is in her normal human form both her and the main protagonist don't feel too well colored at times.
I read 2 chapters then got bored and skipped to the end to ruin the story for me so ill never think of this manga again. Im not saying its a bad manga but ive read to many manga just like this one and there just isnt anything special about it. Oh the end is kinda sad
Lost in blandness. There are some things that I really liked but those things weren't what the story was about and were pretty much entirely incidental. Couldn't bring myself to care about the main characters. Even though the themes in it and the subject matter are things than I'm generally strongly inclined towards it just seemed lacking something.
It's nothing really special (seen the concept before) but it wasn't bad at all. But one thing i didn't like is how it felt more like an American comic than a manga and the characters felt a little generic and cliched.
Nice art, seen before plotline, bloody violence and in full color.
