Description
Sunao and I are childhood friends and also college roommates. Due to the Culture Festival, our class decided that we were going to perform "Swan Lake" and made me play the part of the "prince". Sunao, being so slender and delicate to the point that he could be mistaken for a girl, was, of course, chosen to play the role of the "princess". But since he hates to deal with people, he didn't like that idea too much...

Didn't Work for Me: Stand Alone Nor Connected

I was happy to find a Sukisyo manga that had been scanlated, because I am enjoying the anime. I admit that I went into this manga with expectations that it would clarify and *enhance* the anime, similar to what Junjou Romantica manga does for Junjou Romantica anime. Not a recommended mindset to have if you pick up this book! This really is a stand-alone episode in the lives of the characters. (If one is looking for what I was looking for and one can read Japanese, then perhaps the BL novels would fulfil this desire. Alas, I cannot read Japanese.)

The illustrations seemed unprofessional and sloppy. I didn't prefer the art style at all. It was too round and child-like for my taste and awkward at times, or junior level somehow. (Far better than I can draw -for sure- but still not professional fodder.)

The story was boring. It was overly wordy and easily could have been edited significantly and not lost the story line. There was no scene or line or even a 'moment' that was memorable about the main story line at all.

The shocking trauma and resulting dramatic mindscape created between Sora and Sunao in the past, was totally out of place in this manga. The 'tidbits' of history offered weren't delved into enough to be included in the first place. As a stand-alone story, they only confuse the reader, since they are never explored. The rest of the story (the main story about a student play) seemed like frustrating background noise that I couldn't wait to wade out of to get back to snippets of present day that dealt with exploring their past connection and troubled present. They were the only parts I really liked in this manga - they created tension and intrigue - and yet those very parts seemed incongruous with the main plot.

This wasn't the best shounen-ai anime. (Haven't read the book). I didn't like the beginning up until the part where blue-head and red-head starts having flashbacks of when they knew eachother. That's when everything starts to get good.
