Sentimental - The Good Kind

This series definitely has to be one of the better pieces to be released lately. So cute and atmospheric. I have just one wish, and that is that the stories had more complete endings. Conversely, I have to admit, it lends to the atmosphere of the manga to leave them open at the end and it is nice to be able to use your imagination.

This series is really rather girly. The art is very pretty and the characters are quite cute and emotional. If you're not into that kind of stuff, you won't really get much out of reading this one. And I will let you in on one thing; reading the second story, I blubbered like a baby. It definitely has to be my favourite story of them all.

I can't help it that I like this kind of poetry and atmosphere. There isn't any special action in these stories but they make me feel that every page is full of meaning, that every page has its own content - between lines you can feel nostalgic atmosphere fulfilled with emotions telling you more than words and so on and so on.. And above all, the stories are simply heart-warming and leaves you a smile on your face.

Well, from the bottom of my romantic heart (he, he..) - stop for a while here and read this manga.

P.S. And I forgot to add - Ogura-sensei's art is gorgeous, simply makes you melting..

That's the best way to describe the entire feel of this manga. Gentle, flowing, and soft. Like lying underneath a tree on a spring day and just listening to the breeze and the birds, and watching the clouds... haha, this manga leaves you with a bit of a poetic streak, I guess. It has a strange, almost melancholic nostalgic feeling, which is actually really pleasant, not to mention the art is lovely and expressive. Nothing extraordinary happens or anything, but it has a nice calming feel to it that I really enjoyed.

well, i don't usually like girly uke and cute stories, but somehow ogura has wormed herself into my heart with her first work, and has established a firm foothold with this one. they're short stories, but have interesting characters, great atmosphere, and even the teacher-student thing isn't stereotypical (though it gets awfully close). the other stories are more original. my favourite is the least lovey-dovey one with the guys who wait on the bench for each other.

<33 story 1, story 3 and story 4, they're both so cute. i love how in the first story they're afraid of the dark and of light!!
story 2 makes me fell that their relationship was really mature and REALLY CUTE TOO!!!
i also love how in story 4 Nishina made mistakes of almst hitting a student and by thinking that Aoi was selling himself --> hahahha!! ** I feel that there should had been more lovey-dovey in this manga though.... still, i enjoyed it!!!!

I've just recently come across with Ogura-sensei's works (her first manga was published in 2008 so she can be considered new) but I already love her stories! The art is gorgeous and expressive and the stories are always nice and romantic, not in the fluffy way. And I have to say this book is definitely the one I enjoyed the most. It containes two longer and two short oneshots and they're all memorable. Ogura deals with characters who have fears, likes, and depth. The stories are touching and you can actually feel the fluttering in your stomach when they finally become happy together. Maybe La-La, Bye Bye.
was the weakest out of the stories but it's not bad either.

I'll definitely keep my eye on the mangaka. Recommended. smile

La-La I Love You

Ahh, I loved all of them. My favourite had to be the one on the school roof, I really loved the dynamic between the two characters that type is my favourite. The first story, of course, was perf, Himi was so cute and I loved how they supported each other's fears, the last bit that Ogura put in for the story was humorous and lovely. The second with the guy on the bench was super cute, he was so cute, he felt like a puppy waiting for his owner and the student-teacher one was good as well. It held a slightly deeper feeling than any of the others, but it all worked out in the end! The only thing I have to critique is how Ogura's speech transition and scene transition is not always clear.

First story was definitely also the best from this manga. I actually think it would be great if that story would got space in whole manga.
As for this story and also the others.....there is not much specific things which I would actually dislike...but also it's somehow lack something what would bring it to perfection.
In particular..second story... Was also good ..not so good as first though. (But well...these are only short stories...)
Third story. Also nice but slightly confusing. It feels like it was not ended proper way.
Last one looked very good at first...but then turned in confusing in some parts. However again it was rather nice considering it's only short story.

First - I have to say, that I absolutely like the drawing style of OGURA Muku and commented on this before. It's simple and yet focused on details, just highlighting the right things at the right time. The character design is always beautiful and unique, making out of common pairings something new during the panels and pages. Sighs~

This being said, let's take a look on the stories included:

The 1st one "Secrecy of the shivering night" was my favourite, if I would have to pick one. The atmosphere is warm and the characters personalities an awesome match. Seeing Himi acting all tough and then again as cute as his looks are, while Furuya calmly watches him and turns into someone really caring bit by bit, made me smile a few times.

The 2nd "Only waiting for you" was refreshing, since the reader don't even get the names of the characters or any kind of unnecessary information about them. One only gets a glimpse of their lives and then a few more after they met, so it's hard to predict anything and that has been rather interesting IMO.

"La-la. Bye bye." The 3rd story comes right after the first one in my case, because I adore those calm delinquent-shy or Senpai-Kouhai pairings and the unusual scenes got me. Again the atmosphere is set pretty well and the ending are lighthearted, yet not too cute or cliched.

The last story "The innocence of a young bird" was just like the others a good read, but to be honest it somehow couldn't catch my attention in the same way the others did it. Anyways, the Sensei surely has it's strong points and his personality is sympathic & honest, even though he tries to cover things up by times. It's funny, yet appealing and like an open book.

In conclusion this collection is another great work by the author!
