Beautiful artwork, one of the few manga that I reread just because of the art - because its simply gorgeous...
Add a heartwarming story about a husband (young boy) with a wife (feels like shes his mother more than a lover but i dont really care ;-)) and its a 10/10.
Theres one thing that confuses me though:
The way the people live in this manga etc. feels like theyre in some kind of medieval period, but one of the sidecharacters is wearing a shirt with buttons and glasses...
Well, whatever

Without a doubt, this manga has some of the most consistently beautiful artwork I've seen. Every single frame is equally detailed and stunning. The story is also amazing in that it's not hackneyed and overly romanticized. In fact, it's believable. It is also laced with just the right amount of light-hearted moments that neither feel trite nor over the top. My only wish is that I would have started reading this series later, so that I wouldn't have to wait for every chapter. This is the kind of story that makes you want to keep reading.

This series depicts a peaceful Mongol or Kazakh (Central Asian, anyway) village where Amira and Karluk have just been wed, despite an eight year difference in age.
This manga is just breathtakingly beautiful!!! The clothing and architecture is really great. (check out those earrings!)

I've just read through the first eight chapters, and I gotta say... that was awesome. I mean, really really. Mori kaoru really does make good manga--both the story and the art are breathtaking. At some points, it actually reminded me of Vinland Saga, though Otoyomegatari is milder on the violence, and has romantic elements.

hand down on art work, nothing to complain about story. The romance is lovely, just simply amazing and enjoyable. The dude talk about cruelty... lol you are naive, wat historical setting is it? 19th cent, and we all eat meat. Did u find the rabbit that cute to say it cruel? I had a good laugh. Then are u saying lion hunting deers in Africa is cruel? Hahaha, just love the story, and adj comment just plain stupid
Beautiful artwork aside...

Because, as everyone has said, it is GORGEOUS. But that all aside, the story itself is fantastic. The relationship between Amira and Karluk is so pure and beautiful in itself. I also like that he isn't just a scared child. He behaves like a man, though his emotions are something he doesn't quite understand yet. Both of them are just so innocent and honest about their affection for each other. It is a strangely beautiful--though altogether unorthodox love story including a healthy showing of familial and community bonds.
Wonderful art!

This manga is breathtakingly beautiful. Hands down, the most beautiful manga art I've come across. The details are so great. I literally read this manga 3 times already because of the art. Very inspiring.
I can't wait for new releases.

When I first saw the cover and read the description, I was intrigued and was drawn into the manga. I finally got down and read it, I loved it. The characters were nice and I hated none of them. Even though I don't really like age differences, I like this one, because the boy is mature, and the girl doesn't mind. The story is really good, the art is beautiful, and it's pace JUST right.
I recommend it to anyone. :]

Love this, love this, LOVE this. The art is breathtaking (it's on a par with The Bride of The Water God, if not above it), I love the romance and the developing relationship between Amira and Karluk, and I'd really like to see the development of the plot. I even like this more than Emma. Highly recommended!
