Beautiful, unique timeline and region

A middle east historical setting that isn't some magic carpet fantasy is really rare. The detailed art, the intricacies of daily life and culture of the chosen setting is just so beautiful that you want to keep reading.

I never thought a story about the day to day lives and struggles of women in a harsh environment and nomadic life would be as compelling to read as those epic battle mangas.

A little note to the Karen's rant from Aquarian whatever: Do not judge this setting with western values. The problem with virtue signalling Karens like this is that they preach tolerance, yet they try to impose their cultural and moral values onto others. The only one who hasn't considered cultural and historical content is that Karen reviewer. Ignore her, and read this manga.

Actually child marriages are quiet frequent in Eastern and Asian countries, i wondered how couples get along like that. SO this manga is the answer to all your questions about eastern cultures and lifestyles. Artwork is definetly what you call equsite.

This series is really quite excellent. It is clear that the subject matter has been well researched by the mangaka.

The story and the characters are all very well conceived. I look forward to seeing how the young husband grows.

Now if only the releases came out faster!

Way Beyond the Usual Manga

I'm reading this only in the US book format because I want to keep the books to look at again some day. The reasons for that are multiple:

1. Lovable, brave main female character (the "bride") makes you root for her from the outset.

2. For male readers, the bride also grabs and holds your attention early just because she's so beautiful! Hers is a style of beauty that conveys a feeling of richness and consummate femininity. The way she's drawn is not just a case of big tits provided for ecchi purposes. It's more like the mangaka in drawing her is hearkening back to a style of female beauty that was popular before skinny became the norm in visual media. Think Marilyn Monroe, or Nana in "Nana to Kaora". I would bet anything that even today this is the look that most men love.

3. Life in a time and place unknown to most of us described and presented in well-researched detail, and through ancillary characters whom it's possible to like because, as different as the way they live is, their hearts and feelings are the familiar human ones.

4. Unbelievably good and detailed art that is far beyond manga-standard. I found myself lingering on page after page just to see the details.

5. An unconventional love affair that, for some reason, seems perfectly normal from the outset of the story. Perhaps that's because the excellent art makes you feel immersed in that amazing foreign culture from the outset, and the marriage at the heart of the tale is perfectly normal in that culture. How will this odd relationship play out over time? The question is inescapable, and it makes this reader, at least, look forward to many future volumes.

6. Conflict / war looming in the future. I also long for more volumes to discover how this comes out, and above all in hopes of seeing the bride and groom, and the warm, hard-working extended family that she's joined, survive.

EPIC

This is so amazing. No really. I'm so happy that I happen to pass by this one and have it a go.
Thanks to this manga I have been able to take notice of other people's culture and how people interact with each other in other countries. I've got to admit it is very refreshing but awkward. I kept wondering if there are really such groups of people here in this world since all I see is chaos, selfishness, corruptions, the list just go by.

I am really hoping that this would come out in my country soon. I mean really. I've been searching a copy of this almost everywhere and anywhere (except the internet). I even went to some pretty far places where I could exclusively ask them to order it for me but alas. I really want a copy of this book.

i was hesitant but wow!

i kept on seeing this recommended everywhere, and i was turned off by the description a bit, but i finally gave in and i am so happy i did! this has easily made it into my top ten. the art is GORGEOUS every single detail is just incredible and i love how it shows a different country and culture. normally you'd think a manga wouldn't be good for that but it does it extremely well. and i dont enjoy younger older relationships like this usually, but you can feel their love for each other, it isn't in your face cause they realize one of them is young but you can see it growing and it is so sweet at times, even when there isn't any dialogue, it just makes you smile at how sweet it is. and it doesn't just go into one relationship exclusively, it branches off into other full-fledged stories, but they all connect somehow through the characters. and to be honest my favorite character is the researcher, he makes me laugh almost every time he's in a panel and im so happy he got his own story.it is an amazing slice-of-life romance that takes place in a really uncommon setting, and if you haven't read it yet, do it now.

Gorgeous but not everyone's flavor of manga

I brushed this series off for a while since it seemed slow but, to be honest, that's part of it's charm. It's a manga that draws the reader into the story with it's everyday pace. The art is so detailed and beautiful you can stare at one page in awe for a while. The only complaint I can think of is the lack of back story. Maybe I skipped a chapter but I am still confused about the Anthropologist's situation and the reason Amira was married off to this particular boy. They've clearly explained there are a handful of tribes near Amira's native village yet they chose a boy on the other side of the mountains.

That being said, this isn't a manga that will hold the attention of most readers. It's pretty slow and the comedy is light.

Really Great Story.

I found the story to be really beautiful and interesting at the same time. The historical setting adds more charm to the seinen setting of the story, and not to mention the detailed and well illustrated art. Comments below mine have already said everything I want to,so there is really nothing for me to add.
Yes,I do wish that there was much more focus on Amira (& Karluk) .To be more honest,I just want the story to be about them, but I guess that cant be avoided as the author is trying to showcase the life of every possible young bride to us.
Its a great seinen and its definately recommended.

I got curious to why everyone was praising this work, so I gave it a try today. And just like everyone else, I must really say the one and only word to describe this manga is "beautiful".
The art, the story, the humor...
It's like a precious little gem that you wish it'd never lose its... purity.

So happy i can add this wonderful manga to my bookshelf that it's out in English. Amazing refreshing story! As for the female lead, she is not annoying at all. I'm always wanting more after I finished reading ch. Looking forward to the rest of the story. The art and detail and cultureal learning it amazing.
