Innocent Shoujo Cuteness

If you need a cute, quick story with innocent romance, not too much drama, a bit of magic, and a sweet ending to get you through the day, this is a nice one. It's nothing new, nothing hugely original or complex, no huge twists, but it's sweet and the art is pretty in a simple way.

I love manga that just makes me feel happy after reading it, like this one did. I think all of Sakura Tsukuba's works (well, all that I've read) had good plots by shoujo standards, and they just make me feel satisfied. This one is no exception! I only wish it were longer. Oh, and the art is extremely pretty, as usual. Highly recommended!

Yes yes, it could have been longer. But for a oneshot it was absolutely lovely!! <3 It was extremely sweet, and I would not have wanted it any other way!
If you liked this mangaka's other works, you definitely won't be dissapointed :}!

Don't let the synopsis put you off this oneshot because you're sick and tired of shoujo girls whose only wish in life is to find a boyfriend and fall in love. It's nothing of the sort.

Umi is cheerful, eats a lot, and is pretty innocent and spacey, taking the "first love" idea in stride but without becoming obsessed with it. Her friendship/relationship with Neo is adorable, and reminds you more of childhood sweethearts than a lovey dovey couple. It's hard to get to know Neo and Umi because Hitomi kara Destiny is unfortunately a oneshot, but the story's pulled together well enough so that they're easily likeable.

Tsukuba Sakura's the mangaka, and that pretty much explains how good the art is. Fans of her work or not, Hitomi kara Destiny is worth a try. Although the story's not particularly deep, nor unique, it's a sweet little story that will leave you smiling. The pretty art's worth the time, at the very least.
