I’m Anna. I’m 14 years old and I’ve just entered the ninth grade. Sou and Hinata, who live in the same apartment complex as me, are my childhood friends and we’re all the same age. I thought that from now on we’d become even closer friends, but then Sou suddenly did that to me…!!

The manga starts off slow, takes some unexpected turns, and gets better, so read on before you judge.

It's really cute! Cute art, cute scenes, cute characters; I did feel a twinge from some of the scenes, like the later parts with the Second Hinata (though it had nothing to do with the main plot).

Sure, it's cliched, but it's delivered well and doesn't seem forced... most of the time. I've read up to chapter 38 in raws, and I really feel like it's been dragged out too long. The manga's just filled with pointless drama at this point; it's like pulling teeth... to the point where I wish it would just END already.

Pros: Super cute art, well-delivered lines and plot, can be quite funny, has that "addicting shoujo" quality, an occasional good scene.
Cons: Too long for its simple plot, flat characters, lack of emotional depth despite how serious it can be, too many side characters (yes, this is a con too, considering most of them are pointless so far).

Recommended as a good casual read, but it's nothing too special.

Heading South

This is becoming an unpleasant barely average shoujo. Some parts were cute and almost redeeming but by now I've forgotten all of them. It's taking so long for something worth reading to happen that I barely care for new chapters - yet in my loyalty and hope I still read them here and there.

Let me break it down though: the first half-ish was alright but it never really got better. I kept thinking there were so many chances for turning points but the main character just wouldn't take them. I noted that within this mega-slow progressing storyline, the characters show no character growth. It's like the protagonist is immune to emotional change - and I spite her for it and the tension it causes between her friends.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The whole love triangle thing is just not working for me. Really, it's just gotten a little depressing knowing all the main characters are in a constant pit of discontent and unrequited love. ugh, melodrama in a pop shoujo? notmycupa'tea

So I ask, WHERE is this story going? Because I'm getting lost. And a truly good story will not keep you running in circles as a means for suspense. My advice is don't read it unless you know it could be a lost cause.

I DO NOT liked this at all! I usually can stand shoujo since I love them (esp love triangles), but this one, just no. Maybe it has something to do with the female lead, my gawd girl (you know, the annoying type cliche shoujo girls)! I'm sorry, tried reading it twice, but I just can't...

I see the same banal, shoujo plot twists are woven into this manga. I honestly do not have enough patience to wait for the upcoming chapters because I have a strong inkling of who she is bound to end up with. It's cute, I personally like Hinata, but the flaws of the mangaka's characters are not... good flaws? Does that make sense? Flaws that make the person more realistic, human, and loveable. They are the cliched flaws that somehow shoujo manga keeps implementing and getting away with them. The childhood friends don't have a good amount of screen time individually, one of them holds out over the other in how many times he's appeared.

It's "meh" to me, but shoujo fans who would like to have some "guessing" in cute "love triangles" and "childhood friends" nonetheless should read this. To others, the person she'll end up with is not obvious. It's cute!

Though it is a bit cliched, I really like this manga. The artwork is adorable and both Sou and Hinata are cute.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I was pleasently suprised when I read chapter 7, that Anna liked Hinata more. For it seemed like she preferred Sou at first, which was pretty cliched. I'm rooting for you Anna&Hinata

Chapter 01 is pretty speedy for Nana-sensei's work! She usually takes it slower for those sort of things to occur...a change? *_*

Sweet and a light read. I'll probably buy the raw volume cause it's her manga *sigh* And chapter 01 has a great colour spread to die for if you're a fan, heck, even if you're not, it's still great! biggrin

Forgettable and Irritating Female Lead

I thought the art was cute so I gave this one a try. The female lead is so annoying and has no likeable traits and so uncute in top of that.
The storyline is getting nowhere and the rival teacher who's aiming for Hinata is such a fucking bitch!!!!!
There is not much character development and the girl gets quite in my nerves in each chapter.
What kept me reading this was because Sou is quite dedicated to Anna even if she didn't appreciate his feelings. I like the male lead but all the female characters are soooooo fucking irritating!!!!

Albeit being that cliche childhood love shoujo, it is cute and can be funny. Plot lines are predictable but enjoyable.
In my belief cliche are known as cliches since they are popular and so are used.

I like it. The art is my favorite for this series. It's cute and clean. I hope Nana Haruta continue with it. Even though I get the feeling it'll only be like a 20 chapter series or somethin.
