One of the greatest mangas ever

Long story short, this manga is the epitome of the ideal love. It's not about the twisted and dirty real world we live in, but an ideal world where za powa of rabu wins. One of the most emblematic mangas for the Romance genre, and next to Love Hina, pretty much one of the best Harems carried out.

Nothing more to add. Excellent manga and story. FUMIZUKI Kou, one of my favorite even though only 2 of his stories are famous (Umi no Misaki being the other one). Seal of Quality.

Another Manga that touches the heart!

After reading bitter virgin, i never thought ill find another great manga that touched my heart so deep. The storyline is great, every characters are given details. what i like most is even though the story is long, every chapter is not wasted on crappy topics and activities. the development of the male protagonist is very detailed on every chapter. the devotion of the female protagonist is also shown. none of the story is based on fantasy. this story touches different aspects in life. also, the ending really suits the story. for me, Ai Yori Aoshi is one of the greatest manga about love. i read the whole manga for like 1 and a half day, and i cant even stop reading it coz i wanna follow every moments in the couple.

I hope this manga is recognized by many manga readers as a great love story.

it took like 7 weeks to read it in my scheldule, but i finished. it's really good. the manga is like romeo and juliet, yet at the same time it has lots of humor so it wouldnt be all depressing. the ending is ok, it makes the story feel finished.

I read this manga after read umi no misaki (another work of same mangaka) and i feel this old work is better than newer work in many way. More realistic, reasonable, touching, enjoyable, etc.

Info
-This is not open ending, but close ending
-Read 'Geese1' comment, i agree at most past of his comment
-Tokyopop scans is completed since 2008 (by kickthekitty) this may help you for google it

A little comment
-Climax scene is not that excited, it's should be more obstacles than this (I feel the greatest problem in serie solved way to easy)

A good read

Well, I finished this manga 3 times and coincidentally enough, it was always after I'd finished reading Ichigo 100%. I guess it's like a type of medicine: every fustrating and annoying feeling I've got after reading Ichigo 100% is easily rubbed off with this manga.

There are tons of manga of this type out there in the market which focus in comedy/drama/ecchi/harem/romance but I still recommend this one as a classic work of its kind. Well, the storyline is predictable and full of common plots as any manga of this type: lots of girls, lots of fanservice, lots of misunderstandings, lots of bathroom and love hotel scenes and almost without any twist. Sounds pretty dull, doesn't it? Then, why did I still read it for a total of 3 times?

Indeed, there are differences that make this manga interesting and they all lie in the main couple (Hanabishi Kaoru and Sakuraba Aoi) and the development of their relationship. First of all, Kaoru isn't your typical loser. He does seem quiet and shy with girls but that is due from his past. During the span of the manga, you'll see how he becomes an full grown man who knows how to act and think and is incredibly considerate. Secondly, for Aoi's part, I know that some of you will find her incentives and dreams are both too simple and unrealistic. However, come to think of that, isn't it that before you accomplish your dreams and fulfill your incentives, most of them look unreasonable to an outsider? In fact, Aoi gives me a new definition or more exactly, a new confirmation of devotion in relationship. Lastly, this manga focuses solely on their relationship with a llittle details about the supporting characters. You don't waste time in any childish and cheesy misunderstanding of their relationship. The pace is slow but clear and stable.

In brief, you may have read a lot of manga but I guarantee that not many have given you a full sense of completion like this. Besides, in this chaos world, being imaginative and hopeful isn't a harmful thing. Hope you would enjoy this manga as much as me.

Worth of my Time

I just finished the whole 17 volumes. (took me 2 straight days(well mostly nights) to finish the manga) What can i say... Before hand i watched the Anime both first and second season. The funny thing is that i watched the anime around 2007 and when i read it i see it in a different perspective. I still LOVE the series. What i like the most about this "HAREM" manga is that the main protagonist or main character Karou is a not a INDECISIVE JERK GAY which we mostly found in this GENRE. I like how the writer gave the open ending to the females and i was so happy for MIYABI. Seriously i liked it alot but i wished that the writer/author add little Aoi and little Kaouru at the end. This is one of the manga that makes you as a man to care deeply for a woman and likely dream that you can find someone among the girls who are present at the story.

I feel not completely satisfied but still its a nice ending and well done.

So unrealistic perfect people

One day an innocent, cute, traditional simply perfect housewife bump into him and say he's her love in 18 years and want to marry him and the guy is also really nice.
Well, because it's a seinen, I expected a more realistic story, this kind of perfect story is a bit pissed me off.
Anyway, as standard ecchi + harem + romance manga It's still pretty good.

Great start but tetters back and forth

Nice manga, it really is but i would not go as far as to call this piece of work a prefect manga.

At the begining of the manga you can't help but get absorbed in the manga and like the characters that are in it. The mangaka uses a great drawing and writing style which causes to to feel for the characters and the story, but their are down sides as well. First, the manga gets a little boring to read after a while, i was wondering if i would make it to the end because of this, maybe apply to some people like me but thats how it is. Secondly, Aoi starts to get on my nerves, it's maybe because shes so clingy to Kaoru to the point it annoys or maybe it's something else, but she wares on the nerves.

Despite of all that the ending was not rushed and gave a satifying feeling at the same time. Great piece of work but not what i call prefect by any means.
