@lilinette: I don't agree with you

I have NEVER liked ecchi manga because of that point you mentioned. The male protagonists are always insignificant, incompetent, lame and really useless. In other word, they are a pain in the ass. And despite all that, he has a bunch of beautiful girls chasing after him. I HATE that part so much that I can't standing reading the manga with that plot.
However, this manga is an exception. Teiichi-kun is totally not like those useless and hateful guys. He is calm and collective and brave and logical when it comes to scary situation, where other guys would be peeing their pants and run away instead. To add to that, he is very kind, manly and cool also. Most importantly, he is not a pervert. I really like his appearance design, except for the part that he is not very tall ^^.
The girl is interesting and cheerful. She is a very likable and sincere girl. That shows very clearly in the recent chapters (30, 31, 32).
The story is fresh and it has a mysterious atmosphere that really draws you in and still refreshing and purely romantic at the same time.
Anyway, I recommend this manga. It's the recommendation of an ecchi manga from an ecchi manga hater like me so you can trust me that you will like it. So go ahead and give it a try ^∀^

Good stuff

As a fan of supernatural stuff, I find That3rdGuy's critique of this manga to be unfair. If Yuuko was a normal human girl this would simply be another high school ecchi anime, the ghost angle is what makes it cool and worth watching. As for That3rdGuy's personal attacks against mangakas that he doesn't even know, all I can say is hater's gonna hate. I think this manga is great. It mixes comedy, ecchi, romance, and mystery together perfectly.

Really draws you in

Rating an unfinished manga always leaves me with a nagging feeling in the gut, but this time, I just couldn't help it. This manga is pure, liquid awesome. The atmosphere and individual stories really draws you in.

The mangaka really put in his effort to make the titular ghost maiden an interesting character. She is a character that truly could have been ripped out of an east asian horror story. Yuuko is no Casper. While she is certainly no villain, she is unlike the "cute ghosts" of other manga, that are ghosts in name alone and do not have any of the terrifying characteristics that people often associate with ghosts. No, the mangaka goes out of his way to constantly remind you that the protagonist is frequently in the company of a pale ghoul that only he can see, one that wishes to "remain with [him] for eternity ..."

To try and elaborate any further would only make this review tiresome to read. Just go take a stab at it.

I'm kind of hooked after just reading the first chapter. I like a good ghost story and I like the idea of the paranormal club investigating various hauntings and monsters. Add in some romance and we've got a winner.

Superb, yeah that's what I feel about this Manga. The idea of the story is interesting, the art is GODLY, wait that's a bit too much. okay, godly, that's what I meant, and while the storytelling can be somewhat confusing, the other elements make up to it. I fell in love with the Heroine the first time I saw her. I don't know whether it's because I like that kind of hairstyle or she's just too lovely. By the way you who read this comment should hit this Manga ASAP, it won't disappoint you.
I give it a 10

Well-paced

I thought this would be a dragged out romance story, but it's actually very well paced. The mystery/horror elements give the story a unique vibe and the characters (esp. Yuuko) are much more interesting than I expected them to be after the first chapters.

It's a great story that actually manages to maintain its quality even until the end.

I saw the horror tag on this series and passed it up for quite some time (mainly cause horror is hard for me to get in to). After being pressured by a friend I started reading it and oh jeez; I am damn glad I did. The two main characters are what has made me read every chapter out (ch. 15 as of writing). I like Teiichi because he is kind of a non-standard male lead. He is not abnormally stupid or smart. He doesn't have any ridiculous powers or anything like that. He just can see (and appearantly touch) Yuuko, the female lead who happens to be a ghost. I love the kind of romantic feel the two share (which is being slowly developed as the story goes on).
Spoiler (highlight to view)
In chapters 13-15 many interesting developments happen. The story is now basically just short of a harem (both Yuuko and the two other female characters are interested in Teichii). It also seems that Yuuko did not really forget her past at all but more or less ignores it (out of sight, out of mind, and in this case; out of body). Seeing the second ghost which seems to be a darker mirror of Yuuko (and based on what the ghost says) has the next few chapters looking to be very interesting.
All in all, this is a great manga and I am greatly looking forward to what happens with Teiichi and Yuuko's relationship after the current plot sequence ends. Will they grow closer or farther apart? Will the other female characters turn this in to a flat out harem (please I hope not). Either way, I eagerly await the next chapter.

While the romance is cute, I frankly didn't find the story particularly interesting. Basically, I wish it had been more horror/mystery and less shounen romance with pointless incredibly frequent ecchi parts and an utterly glacial pace. And the female lead spends way too much of her screen time obsessing over the male lead...

Finally,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Yuuko may have forgiven her murderer, but said murderer still should have gone to prison, and ought to have confessed. Standard shounen plot: Police and legal system don't exist...

That said, the ultimate end is still really cute. But it would have been far stronger if the story hadn't been 10 volumes long, including tons of omake chapters.

this is no horror story

...until the very last chapters, this is more akin to a magical girlfriend than ghost/horror story, with the way the female lead was portrayed. The plot is decent: logical with a male lead that can actually think and do according to his own wishes. Regetably, apart from the main couple the other characters aint that memorable.

The art is simply great. It must be mentioned that this the mangaka also does hentai manga(s), and believe it or not most hentai mangakas are better than mainstream ones when it comes to portraying sexy female human body.

edit: if you are impatient type, look for the anime. It was quite faithful to the original manga.

so this is one of those ecchi mangas that pull you in with a great story.so the biggest achievment of this manga is that it has a plot like most of the other ecchi mangas ( not like ive read a lot -_-) you know an ordinary boy (or in most cases a nerd or a failure ) magically stumbols upona really beautiful girl and in this case their goal is to find her memories, but surprisingly the author manages to pull the reader into reading this with the stunningly beautiful art , the characters and makes an episodic manga on a level of a story manga. (wow loooooong sentence o_o) so in short:
characters- 9/10 ( i even liked the protagonist, he is actually pretty cute for once :3 and yuuko is really likable too , the ecchiness doesnt stop their love to look kind of pure and fluffy
story- 8/10 because for an episodic manga it was interesting and plus im a mistry/horror fangirl ^>^
art-10/10 so beautiful, the artist is a genious, because his art really suits the story, i havent seen a horror manga so beautiful in a while
anime-10/10 it portrayse the manga (original) really well, i actually started the anime first smile
so all in all- 9/10 read it!!!!!!! interesting, artistic, romancy, ecchi, dark and you get otome x amnesia smile
