Pass this one.

I thought "oh a love story about revenge, it sounds interesting". But with every chapter I went through, I confirmed that the heroine is a gutless and complete idiot, the same could be said about the main guy. This is the best phrase to describe the MC: "that idiot girl who just follows random playboys". I honestly can't stand idiots.

After chapter 3 I started to skip through the pages just to get a general idea and see how it ended.

Good Message

It sent a good message and I like how he tried to make it up to the girl and gradually realized how deep his actions scarred her. I like how the author showed that even though it wasn't physical bullying and maybe it wasn't as sever as the bullying he got but it can still impact her the same. How serious bullying is might not be how harsh it was but rather how the person takes it. I liked the characters and the way she tried to get revenge on him, and how he won her over by showing her how much he loved her. I also liked the ending and it was impressive how the author managed to tell a decent story within 9 chapters but it did feel a bit fast paced, i would've loved to see more of her hurting him and him trying to take it and give love back. A critique I'd give for this would be that the plot throughout the story was not as good, a bit too much unrealistic drama crammed into the 9 chapters bigrazz

It was so typical and boring.. It's supposedly about "revenge".. When the word is just that a WORD!! There is no real revenge.. The girl doesn't even seem bright enough to know how to execute such a thing.. In fact all the characters save for two are pretty irritatingly predictable.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
some guy is at a blind date get-together and ends up meeting the girl of his dreams.. But he to her is the guy of his nightmares.. She swears vengeance on him for all the traumatic bullying that she had to endure through grade 4?!... She ends up agreeing to go out with him so she can pay him back somehow, but he chick doesn't know what she is doing.. Just acts like a normal bitch like most girls do.. And get scolded by her smart friend about it from the get go. She is supposed to be a university student but she acts like a child about everything and just makes herself look super bad.. She keeps playing victim the whole damn time even after she finds out that he was bullied way worse then her in high school... For him he is irritating because he pretty much stalks her like a puppy that loves their owner.. He doesn't just take the reign on the situation.. Then there is this girl and her brother that to me come out of nowhere and they create major shit for stupid reasons.. These are all supposed to be adults but the story depicts It like they are young elementary students.. The end they both get beat up realizes their feelings for each other and decide to really like each other.. Really bothersome read.
Side story: a girl likes a professor that doesn't really give a shit about anyone.. Then he saves her from going back to her dumbass abusive boyfriend by stating they were together.. And she takes that as he likes her even though he basically said she's stupid by suggesting that it was really what he meant by saying that..

Interesting premise but fumbles later

The first half of the series was simple yet solid with an few inconsistent flaws however it then loses itself and nosedives into cliched, absurd drama you'd expect from certain Shoujo mangas.

The beginning and general setting stood well on it's own. It worked well focusing more on Yurina and Takaya trying to making it work/getting Revenge. Yurina had an bad case of Aesop Amnesia, One chapter she'd be super mean to Takaya then be taken aback by his genuine sincerity but then in the next, she'd once again be cruel.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The whole Rino thing wasn't needed and there were much better ways of Yurina finally getting it into her head that Takaya wasn't the same person he was in elementary school, Not to mention she becomes an complete Idiot/Pushover during it. Also I don't understand the thing with her Teacher but it's possible he was simply an Red Herring and Plot Device to A) "Confirm" the idea that Yurina was cheating on Takaya like Rino was trying to put into his head B) Show Takaya's protectiveness of Yurina. or C) For her to realize about her feelings but now that I think about it, It was All of the Above.

I don't normally say this but I recommend completely skipping chapters 5, 6, and 7 altogether. You're not missing much and the ending has the same tone and sensitivity it had in the earlier chapters.

Great Premise, poor execution

Ruin of a decent plot. the villians are completely nonsensical and unbelievable. The interaction between main lead is as cliche as any shoujo manga can get. This is NOT josei.

This SHOUJO story could've been better

I was expecting a more mature serie, 'cause I didn't feel as if it was Josei. For me it's Shoujo...
The main idea of the story was good, but in the last volume it started to annoy me, specially the part when Rino harms Yurina. It turns out cliche and Yurina's attitude towards her revenge could've been a lot better (having stronger character, maybe).
Generally speaking, there were good and bad points in this serie.

Wow, hard to believe that it's been 16 months since I started reading this considering that whenever I thought 'Great Romance manga' this would always be at the back of my mind. I'd track the scanlation process on irc and forums \o/
The final arc is kinda cliche and ridiculous but the romance/angst, in the first 5 chapters especially, was simply excellent. They both have insecurities (something that's almost a must for me when reading a romance manga) and scars, though Yurina's are obviously much greater. And I love how she doesn't want to let love get in the way of revenge against the guy who ruined her childhood and entire love-life.

I still feel that their history wasn't addressed quite enough, but reading the sequel it seems that's going to be carried on. I actually put off reading the rest of it til now hoping the sequel would be tled as well but then caved 😛

The extra seemed pretty out-of-character for the professor, though.

EDIT: ok so 9 years later I did a reread cos I have trouble remembering a lot of hings i read back then. The first few chapters are still fnatastic quality. The last few are still crappy thanks to a couple of side characters (the MCs aren't the problem). That said, I got back to reading the sequel series, which has a couple more chapters Tled now (5 instead of i think it was just 2 or 3 before) and the sequel is a return to form. I reeaaalllly wish someone would TL the rest. I'm going to busy with things for the next few years so not like I can learn the language myself 🙁

Interesting premise, bad ending...

I like the concept, it was good, but the execution at the final chapter just went plain wrong, worth a read, but it was a major disappointment. Still, if the sequel comes out, I'll read it. I like the art though, and the premise was interesting. It did turn cliché, but I can deal with that. What I can't deal with it's the ridiculous and stupid ending. Didn't like the explanation for it either. Anyways, it's short, and I really think you won't waste time reading it. Just don't make it a priority XD

Shallow

No matter how hard I try, I can't see the "love" that Takaya feels for Yurina as anything but shallow. Literally within ten pages in, he tells her that he likes her. At this point, they haven't even spoken two words to each other. He just sees that she is attractive and instantly falls in love.

It's okay for this to happen, of course, but the fact that the mangaka is trying to convince us that Takaya's love is real and not completely based on Yurina's looks alone is almost insulting. Genuine love may have developed as the characters interacted more, but to imply that Takaya's love is anything but shallow in the beginning is just idiotic.

It was an okay manga. Yurina's personality was realistic and the way she dealt with trauma was refreshing. This manga falls prey to typical shoujo tropes--kidnapping, almost-rape, jealous third parties--but that is to be expected. If the manga were long it would be unbearable, but I found the length to be perfect.

It started off pretty well... I did get annoyed by her though and how ridiculous she can be but I really liked how she started to change. Their relationship started to change and I started to really enjoy it...and then things started to go downhill! The last volume...like, the mangaka could've done something better with all of that but it seems she just chose to make it as cliche as possible. Damn, this manga had potential too
