The first few volumes of this series were god, from memory. But, i'm ot sure if it's because i had high expectation after having to wait almost a year for volume 5 to be teld, but volume 5 especially seemed like a trough. The finale chapter was...weird. And the manga occassionally went pretty surreal which goes against the whole tragic vibe it had going that i loved.

Although when I read this, I was kind of struggling because most of the translations were grammatically wrong. Nonetheless, I'm still very thankful to those who even took the time to translate it and gave me and many more readers a chance to read it. But anyway, this series is just so exquisite that it can't be described with just beautiful. There's just too many words that mean wonderful that this series can be described by. This series is truly one of kind. It's a series with an ending with a very happy ending because of the hero's and his friend's goal to live in peace. Because of that most of the characters that matter don't die and everyone lives! This is what makes it one of a kind because a lot of series/novels (even though they're very good) end with someone close to the main character die or sacrificed themselves. Not only that, this series has amazing artwork!!
I have just fallen in love with this series!! 💘

Even though I enjoyed it very much, if I were to be honest i couldn't say it deserves a 10, and compare with Superior, this one is a lot worse.
Then again, it's between my favorites probably because I like the characters' personalities.

I had really bad feeling when I was reading the firs manga that all the naivety would lead to horrible ending. It was even worse than I expected. In addition to all stupid flash-backs.

And all that naivety multiplied by overall stupidity of the sequel killed the story for me.

On the other hand the first manga got 8 from because this one was so mediocre.

The climax was friggin' awesome. It was so awesome that I didn't even get to blink my eyes.
But then again, it was a little bit confusing. I don't really get Sheila's past. And what about her being divided to three. I really don't get it. It was full of action, but the past is a bit...complicated. But never mind that, at least I know that Exa loves Sheila. woohoo!!!

I'm just gonna go ahead and put the first Superior and Superior Cross together as one comment.

It was very unique and addicting. It had a good balance of action, romance and comedy (although as a shoujo fanatic, i wish there was more romance) It was definitely refreshing seeing these characters go through such real life struggles and desires to be a stronger person, not only for yourself but for the people you love. The biggest thing for me was the character development. I absolutely loved how each and every character overcame their own obstacles and how much they were able to learn from one another (especially Shiela). The romance was pretty good too, I'm actually quite relieved there was romance in this manga or I would've regretted reading it! I thought this manga was good but I probably won't read it again haha (not really a shounen fan)

All in all, good read. No regrets, kept me entertained and curious.

I totally agree with the previous post on everything, great series, can't wait, and the extended semi-coherent why's... especially the semi-coherent why's.... in fact, mine may not be understandable at all.... I do believe my brain has melted certain parts to protect me from the agony of that end.... it left intact hope on recovery but is disregarding all forms of emotion until such a conclusion has been met.

Unfortunately the ending was pretty plain, but w/e it was good as a whole.(accidentally deleted then copied/pasted this... so top doesn't rly apply anymore but w/e)

Note: Review for Superior and Superior Cross

I greatly enjoyed this story! It's unique, interesting and all around pretty awesome! The story as a whole really is one of a kind, and I would recommend it as a fantasy read, especially for those who enjoy the whole Devil King/Queen theme.

Plot- The plot is pretty interesting to begin with, but as it progresses more elements are introduced that just continue to make it more interesting and that really hook you to the story! At times the plot can get pretty dark. The ending was a bit... rushed... some things were a bit random and could have been done better, and some things seemed a bit unnecessary, but it was still a sweet ending and left nothing to be wanted.

Characters- There are some stereotypical ones, who were still cute, but it was the two mains: Sheila and Exa, they made the story for me. They were so sweet to watch (so cute!), and their internal struggles made them very 3 dimensional and real, their progress through the story was very well done.

Art- The art is pretty, best way to put it, but not shoujo kind of pretty (all stars and bubbles), but soft and easy to look at but able to capture darker images too.

Other- The only qualm I have about this story (besides the slightly strange ending) was the humor. I don't mind humor in stories, but as long as it's done well. The humor in this story is TERRIBLE! At first I didn't mind the humor; but then in the latter half of the story instead of lacing the humor into the rest of the dialog and plot would take a COMPLETE DETOUR and throw in random and unnecessary humor that was typically awkward and not very funny at all. I would have preferred the weird humor to just have been left out, it was very inappropriate at times and it would have helped to not have the moments in the first place.
But~ Other than that the story is very good, and I recommend it!

superior (cross) was really great ! The characters are really interesting and different and the art is fantastic! even though this is action and fantasy, the romance part is essentual to the story, what makes it not shojo-like at all. I's really great! the ending is also very satisfaying. This manga is a must-read.

Everything was ok beside the ending when everything was like.... eh?! why?! argh... in the end the ending happened to fast but, i guess its better than a shittier ending. Anyway very nice story, ending was just rush but ended right. its worth watching but start on the prequel first.
