From Condensation: The story centers around Keito Aoyama, a former famous child actor. Due to a childhood incident, she retired from her career early and withdrew from normal society. Now 16, she passes her days in boredom and without purpose. But one day she runs into a stranger who takes her to El Liston--a free school for high school students like herself, who don't have a place where they belong. Though hesitant at first, Keito decides to enter El Liston and subsequently, she begins a new stage in her life. With the help of her only remaining childhood friend, Taiyou, and her new classmates Rei, Momiji, and Kouichi, Keito slowly finds the courage to open up to others and to accept their support. Will Keito return to acting? Will she find true friends? Love?

super addictive from the beginning to near the middle. died down for awhile. then it went back up after 2 chaps or so. (its standard, i am saying). As it wasn't able to keep my interest for the whole time, i am not giving it a higher score. The art is applausable and pretty, imo. i would've liked there to b more romance but the drama was intriguing so i felt okay with it. also, the way the characters grow up tugged at my heart - nice storytelling. The pairing? I love it - supported them all along...although i found myself slightly disappointed that the other guy didn't put up a bigger fight... i would recommend ppl to read this. it gives off a special flavour i guess.

good plot so far
love this manga!currently at chapter 19.so i'm rooting for the computer nerd Koichi! aside from that, the story has a really nice sweet plot, you know those slice of life kinda plots...something that we can kind of relate to unlike typical shoujo manga these days,Cat Street is definitely worth reading.

More Than Your Average Shoujo-Romance
I see people saying "It's no HYD, but it's good", but I honestly prefer Cat Street. Cat Street deals with a girl who can't get ant lower in the social department, and it's really easy to understand her for the most part.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
People in her situation would either lock themselves up in their room until they were sure nobody could recognize them, or go out and face the world with more determination, but the character did exactally what kind of thing somebody with her personality would do, and she evolves for the better, though not past the realistic point, which is what makes it the great manga it is!
I fell in love with this manga from the start. It's a must read and an instant classic!

not hyd but is still lovely
Of course its not hyd no no but I love the slow subtlety of this manga. Each scene has been drawn and thought out with a lovely care, each character has been paced and well developed and the story is beautiful, learning to accept and over come your faults enabling yourself to let people in and such, I could go on about this manga but I won't read it and look closely at its beauty and lovely slow pacing.
To start out, the summary makes it seem like it focuses on Keito, her acting and "love" but it's really nothing like that. For one thing, Taiyou disappears early on and she moves on. And it barely dabs in her acting. It's more a story of healing and friendship. Started out a little slow for me but I'm really enjoying the later chapters. I really got into it the further I read. I really like how the four of them have such a strong friendship. Keito definitely has some character depth considering what a broken, antisocial person she was in the beginning, only going through the motions of life and spending most of her time in her room. She is weepy at first but she's no longer a weak girl when she takes revenge in a later chapter. Momiji didn't seem like much to me but her character is explored further in the newer chapters when she's bullied because of the costume she wore. I like the computer nerd, Kouichi, a lot, even though it was weird he liked his sister so he acted like he hated her. Rei I didn't like at first, being a playboy, but after he got mad for Momiji I liked him a bit more. This series has some interesting characters, all "stray cats" as Rei says. It's not big on story and plot, true, but its more into character development.

fufufu...having just finished the series *ends at volume 8* not as exciting and epic as hyd, but a very sweet and touching read nonetheless. the meaning of catstreet was explained at the end, and it really made my heart ache!
Spoiler (highlight to view)
i must say that the final coupling is abit of a surprise, but not that unexpected.
the only hint is that throughout the first half or so, keito has often said that she has a special 'connection' with this person ^^
Seemed Really Nice so Far
But sadly it seems that Rei is the extremely jealous type, and I hate how dramas usually around somebody's jealousy. I just hope this one doesn't end up like the others because so far I've really liked this manga.
I fell in love with this manga from the get-go. Keito was such a difficult character to understand at first & I really disliked the way she treated the people around her & the way she couldn't handle criticism, but then you see the way she entered the Free school, makes 3 very interesting friends & her whole world & attitude changed. They each have their own stories. The computer "geek" amuses me a lot & he's really hard to figure out... & Momiji is such a cute character.. although her drawings change a bit... she doesn't look much like a doll, but more like a girl wearing "interesting" clothing a little later & with Rei... well he's just a sweatheart. I really don't know what's going to happen with them, but I'm hooked. Finished reading 18 ch's in only a day & can't wait to read more! EDIT I just JUST finished reading the manga,& I'm so happy on how it turned out! Everyone is happy so I'm happy XD

this one is really great, although i generally keep ma distance from shoujos (for the obvious reason lol) i really like this one, im at c 7 atm and the story really dragged me in, i really like Keito, her way of thinking like a grade schooler is really fun , when rei asked her about her sleeping with him she answered "at ur house?" or the like and later in the conversation she asked "wait, u didnt want to get laid, did u?" omg that one was hilarious and now i just have to keep reeding for the sake of similar situations to come up
and yeah thumbs up for this one being picked up again, would have put it on ma wish list if it werent for the new scans

Good Story... Slow Releases...
Started reading this series, kinda got a bad feeling about it by the end of volume 1, so I stopped reading it. Then after a few months I decided to give it another try. I got past volume 1, continued on to volume 2, then 3, then 4, and to my surprise I liked it. However I must inform you that this series hasn't been translated past volume 4... and hasn’t been for the past few months, (and counting...) even though there are supposedly two groups working on it . So overall this is a great story… only if you can handle really, REALLY, slow releases
**Edit* Yay! A group called 'A Willful Muse' has picked up the series and is making it into a weekly release!! I have no further complaints about this series! =p*
