Oh-my-gosh that was so sweet and cute and funny and adorable! I am in love with just everything, honestly. I don't usually go the shounen-ai way because sadly I've come across too many BL stories which are so boring, cliche, mediocre, uninspiring (I could go on like this all day), so at least when reading yaoi I have the smut to savour. However that is not to say shounen-ai is not good, because once a story is done right it might even outshine many other yaoi titles since it's already so perfect it doesn't even need any steam to make up for the flaws. Though I do admit I could live without the 'sappy' drama here, I love the story otherwise. The humour is there, the sweetness is there, the soft angst is there. Basically it's got a lot to offer. And the art is not bad as well.

Btw, I also LOVE the fact that the chrysanthemum was used in this series. Its portrayal is so symbolic. Did you know that the flower is used on the crest of the Japanese Imperial Family? And on each Japanese's passport as well? I feel like it represents the Japanese people's spirit so earnestly.

I'm not usually a fan of incestuous love but this story looked different and in fact it didn't disappoint me at all.
It's intriguing, the political background and the historical setting draw you in and you really enjoy the plot. It's pretty thick and it also evolves with an exciting twist, although it is just three chapters long it is well developed and every aspect is given the right time.
About the characters, it's great that their past experiences are included because it gives depth to their feelings and they bring them alive. You grow attached to them and when their love evolves you actually think it's a pity that you don't get to have 3 or 4 more pages with... the details wink

I gave it 9.5, instead of a 10, because the two ninjas deserved some more depth and time.

Hana Sakasemshou is a beautifully drawn and perfectly balanced story of love and turbulence in an era of peace for twin brothers Yasukado and Yasutoki. The eldest, Yasukado is the Fuedal Lord and his twin brother, hidden from public knowledge, acts as his bodyguard and double.

At just three chapters long, this series is short and sweet, but the story and its characters are never lacking. The twins, though identical in appearance, are wonderfully different in peculiar ways. The old Grandma and Grandpa that take of the two are the comedy to the twin's romance and the head retainer is deliciously evil. The historical backdrop is interesting and doesn't interfere with the story and the art is as beautiful as ever.

This series would be a brilliant beginner for anyone interested in exploring boy's love. Asou Mizuho handles the delicacy of their relationship spectacularly well. The love between the brothers is quite obviously much more than it should be, but it's so loveable and sweet that the theme of incest doesn't offend.

Without so much as a kiss, for seasoned yaoi readers, Hana Sakasemashou might not be to your tastes. I'm not one to shy away from some steamy mansecks, but this story satisfied the girly-girl in me in a way that many yaoi tales fail to do. Still, I am very much looking forward to the day that Asou Mizuho creates a steamy piece of work.

When first heard of this manga I imagined a lengthy and boring story just like Teikoku Kyoudai, but I was wrong. Hana Sakasemashou is fast-paced, simple and sweet, with a well-drawn historical background and two very beautiful characters (though their faces are almost identical smile ) It's really rare to find such a beautiful yaoi about the Edo period like this one, yet unfortunately it's too short (3 chapters). I just hope ASOU Mizuho will expand her historical theme into other works.
