Part of it was really touching and thought-provoking though it did feel a little preachy. However, the "twist" kinda destroyed a good chunk of the plot 'cos it just came out of nowhere. Man, in that instant, the story went from soul-searching to dramatic bordering on the tones of dripping and soppy, tragedy. Spoiler (highlight to view) Also, what was the mother talking about at the beginning of the story? Was she referring to the death of the boy or to the death of the father? Or was it something else? This short story could've been more but it left me feeling rather short-changed. I mean... it felt kinda incomplete, actually. Still, it's worth reading if you like soul-searching and thought-provoking sort of moments. ... Last updated on April 24th, 2010, 10:05pm
