Coming from watching the anime, I really like what they are doing with the manga. Its not identical to the anime, the characters are the same but the stories/cases are all new and different from the anime, sort of like an extended version of the anime.
The art work is really amazing, with lots of heavy black inks and skillful shading and the quality is top notch.
I would equate this manga to a Japanese Batman, but with characters with weird supernatural powers. Its definitely worth checking out!

Judging from chapter 1, it seems to be a continuation of the anime.

And yay~ it's not the same as the other Darker than Black manga (which I couldn't stand to read). It feels more like the anime than that one. Art is pretty too! Ooh, and some fanservice to boot.

But from what I could tell from the title, it seems to be a single case/arc? Hope it's a long one though *sniff* More Hei and Yin and Darker than Black!

After being disappointed with season 2 it was nice to go back and read this manga which is a lot more similar in tone to season 1. The fact that it is written by the mangaka who did King of Thorn is also a plus. Just to clarify, it occurs just after the end of season 1, before the OAD and season 2. Many of the characters from the original series make an appearance as well as a few new ones

Anyway, the plot is very well done, with lots of action (as we come to expect from DtB) and we get to see more of the developing closeness between Hei and Yin, one of the driving factors for the OAD and season 2 as well as some forshadowing for another plot point major to the aforementioned. The artwork is also excellent. I would recomend this to any fan of DtB as it contains many of the elements which made the series awesome in the first place, unlike season 2.

Darker Than Black was one of my favorite anime in the last half decade or so, and I was really excited to start reading this manga. Infinitely better than the other manga based on these characters. Much more reminiscent of the anime's art style, which fits all the action better than the more shoujo style of the first manga. Nice to see Kirihara still diligently looking for BK-201. If you liked the anime, this is really a no-brainer.

The story starts after the anime 1st season, continue with previous unexplained plots
Spoiler (highlight to view)
like creepy flowers from the gate.
Yin is still alive, but Huang and Mao is supposedly dead. However I hope they brings more old characters back, like Amber and the black kitty cat.

I just want more chapters now.

After watching season one and two, I felt compelled to read this. I like season two, but it was so short. I wished they had more episodes to clarify some stuff. It just left me baffled as to what happened in between the time from season one and two. I just want to see how things unfolded the way they did progressing from season one to two, especially with the progression of Yin throughout the story. So far, I'm definitely enjoying the action and the arc is quite interesting

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I hope to see Mao soon, since he does partner up with BK-201/Li-kun again, but so far BK-201 only seems to be partnering with Yin.

I really hope that this manga is consistent in filling in the gap between the two seasons.
