I'm speechless

Wow. This is certainly the deepest manga I've read (since I normally read light-hearted ones...-__-). It could make you feel quite grim though. But if you're a person who likes psychology, philosophy or simply likes to think, this might just be for you. Plus it has a wonderful artwork, as expected from the author of Mars. (whom I admire now...) Haven't read much of it yet, but so far it got me hooked. I can tell the author puts a lot of thought and effort into this.

I loved the sci-fi concept of it, plus the characters were really awesome and the romance between Mine and that guy was really cute. I liked the ending actually (because I didn't know it was cliche) and it's the kind of manga that'd make you think. The art was really beautiful too.

Terrible ending...

A brilliant story that would otherwise rate a 9 for me, except for the really cliched ending. In fact, I think it's right at the top of my list of "most disappointing endings" in a manga. (-_-)

An original plot, sympathetic characters.
I didn't get bored even once and I was able
to discuss with the material.
A very good ending in my opinion.
I rarely sacrifice my sleep to read manga.

It was worth it.

if you like gore, psychological thriller twisted human engineered kinda stories.then i recommend this manga.
eternal sabbath explores the selfishness of immortality, playing god etc and the right to exist no matter how different you are.
and the art is really good, the plot is amazing but the ending..the ending is good actually but sad...
nonetheless a good read if you're into deep plots.

I'm not really into the mangaka's other works, but this one hit the nail on the head for me. Although I had deja vu pretty often since I read a ton of excellent sci-fi novels so far, it still has a nice impact, plus does involve a fair romantic plot. It certainly is worth giving a try. Personally, I did not find it dark or depressing at all - on the contrary, exciting and easy-to-follow, I'd say.

I've been meaning to read this for a long time now. and I finally did. I want to share my feelings about it to everyone, now that I finished. the feeling of sadness, warmth, complexity, humanity.. it is able to open so many eyes it should be read by anyone. even if it is for the sole reason of not wanting to live in ignorance. as soon as I can, I'm going to re-read it. and take my time. because once wasn't nearly enough. to understand everything the author tried to convey to us, readers. I am really happy that I decided to read it. even if I was a little rude to people closest to me meanwhile and ignored them more or less. and still do, just for the sake of writing this comment..
make yourself a real favor and read it.

This is an excellent manga. It is intelligently written and with just the right amount of romance and emotional impact. The characters are great. I give this one a 10.

8... good read.

I thought it was pretty good. Alot of interesting characters in it. I didn't like how it ended though. The whole "me against the world". To me it wasn't as interesting as the sections involving Yuri, her mom, and Kimiko. Those were smaller and more personal and intimate. I enjoyed those alot.

Plus it gets very handed with its anti-genetic engineering, anti-animal testing. Nice themes, but I would have picked up on it without the constant monologues.

Eternal Sababath is one of the best mangas I have read so far. It was psychological thrilling, and even incorportated romance, genetics, and more scientific aspects. It was well developed. It was beautiful. It debates many questions of morality without ruining the atmosphere.

But, the only thing I don't like was the ending. It was a bit abrupt, kind of contrived and a bit lacking too. But overall a good series.
