Protagonist is a little pu**y a** bitc*

If you want to rage and rage, keep reading this. The protagonist is a little bitc* who by the 20th chapter can't deal with the fact that he is stuck in the new world. He bitches and moans and cries and tries to befriend everyone while screwing over his sister and allies. He DOESN'T LEARN! WTF! He blames other people and never take responsibility.

Mediocre story

This is another mediocre story from Lim Dall-Young. I'll give the author credit for being able to write so many stories at once and still have them be at the very least mediocre. Once again, we're treated to a weak, useless male MC who is borderline retarded, which is alright, because we're aiming for realism here, and not everyone can be smart in the real world.

The art is great and the writing is actually not as bad as some of Lim Dall-Young's other works, which was a refreshing surprise. Re:Birth is entertaining if you're looking for a slightly darker shounen action series with harem elements. Lots of random killing, hot girls want the loser MC's cock, inexplicable powers, people not being able to see the obvious, etc. It's all there and done in a pretty good way.

I would have given Re:Birth a 7 but the ending is one of my biggest pet peeves. A definite cop out by the author. I know there is a sequel but it doesn't seem to be connected to Re:Birth.

tl;dr: If you're looking for a light hearted story, search elsewhere. If you're looking for meaningless deaths and a run of the mill; somewhat darker shounen action with harem elements, look no further!

this manga is really dark and brutal but still really good kind of like Freezing
Spoiler (highlight to view)
but the only flaw is the main guy character cause he uses the word "useless" to the max, hes such a weak pussy and never yet has fought and won his own battle always only being protected, plus he is of course that weak goody good character that says "we cant kill any one even though they are trying to kill us" but in actuality he needs to grow some damn balls cause the only reason he can even state that is cause he never got his hands dirty so far cause his sis was protecting them both, and without her he would have died by every obstacle hes faced so far. and yea i know this author loves having a girls do most of the battling, but at least don't make the guy a useless baby

I never do "review" of series but this was too much to bear.
For the ppl who started this and think that the MC is going to stop crying every 3sec and going to do something are mistaken.
Its 29 chapters on constantly whining and hypocritical BS

I couldn't finish it

I like the idea of the story.. but the main character really ruined my enjoyment. He is one of the worst main char in shounen manga I've read so far. I was reading up to ch 25 of those 29 chapters before I decided I could't tolerate it anymore. No char development, except he's getting worse. He's.... just so Lame... -.-;; . I was nodding with agreement when the sister finally shouted at him how he is done nothing to solve things, that he's just preaching morality. And being so aggravating. Considering this is only 29 chapters and you need to wait until chapter 22+ to see the main character finally show his skill momentarily. This is really not a worth reading -.-;; I need to refresh my mind now by reading Tokyo Ghoul~

I read this shit in one go. Though I know Dal-young bad reputation I just can't stop reading this mango. To be honest, If only the pussy called "Reiji" didn't fvcked up so much, I might enjoy this shit. But hell, Reiji is such a hypocrite. He eats his own feces. He trusts people that want to kill him again and again, but throw her own sister like a used condom. What the fvck Dal-young. I fvcking hate you all over again.

And the ending itself is shitty like Reiji. I don't know what's going on with Dal-young's mind when writing this mango. What a waste of time. And yeah, I wont read the so called "sequel".

Seriously...

I seriously want to stop reading this garbage. How incompetent can the main character (guy) be. Not only that but the woman... always on with the same excuse. I mean, the art is great and so is the concept. The problem is with the characters and such. There's a limit to how incompetent you can make the main character in a manga. It basically goes on in the entire series. The only reason I keep on reading this, is because I'm already halfway through it (15 out of 29 chapters) and I always finish what I start.

The concept and idea is great. The art is great. The characters are bad.

Reiji needs to go soak his head in a tub of ice water for a long, long minute.

OK, so as everyone below me as stated, the main protagonist is everything wrong with the series. But, the problem isn't that he's a coward who runs away and starts crying at the first sign of trouble. Or that he doesn't want to kill anyone in a game of life and death.

No, the problem is that Reiji is a complete and utter asshole who acts selfless but really only gives a shit about himself. And that hot childhood friend he's after.

I don't really understand how Dal-Young could've screwed up Reiji's character so badly. There have been plenty other protagonists who have started out weak/pacifist but, through some nice character development, they eventually become compelling and interesting characters, regardless of whether they remain pacifists or not.

But Reiji? Nope. In fact, the only development Reiji receives throughout the entire manga is to become even more of an asshole. Seriously, if I was his sister, I would knife him the first chance I got.

So, yeah, as everyone else has stated, the plot is decent, the side characters are decent, the art is decent... the only thing that really, seriously needs to die is the main character. Still, like other Dal-Young series, I just can't help reading it. I don't quite understand why.

This is a standard IM Dal-Young work through and through. His main characters as you may have noticed yourself and from the previous reviews on all of his works just plain suck.
They are always unrealistic pansies who have every girl wet over them then they transform into raging douche bags who would rape a girl at the drop of a dime and call it romance. This work is no different.

Honestly I don't know how this guy still has a job putting out nonsense like this.

The story is good, the art is good, the plot is good, the protagonist is annoying.

I understand what Dal-Young is attempting to do with the main character, he's given him a good heart and a strong conscience. Unfortunately (and unusually) the author has combined those more laudable attributes with bluster, callow stupidity, arrogance, and a monstrous sense of entitlement.

It's baffling as to why his two highly competent female companions don't simply drug him and stick him somewhere safe, until things blow over and they can get a better handle on the situation.
