Description
From Yen Press:

Ryouta Sakamoto is one of the top-ranked players of BTOOOM!, an online battle game. But no amount of simulated warfare could have prepared him for what is to come… Ryouta wakes one evening to find himself dangling from a tree by a parachute with no recollection of how he got there. Before he can orient himself to his unfamiliar surroundings, Ryouta is attacked. As a barrage of explosives rain down on him, Ryouta realizes that he too has a pack of bombs…bombs that look very similar to the ones used in BTOOOM! Ryouta may have mastered the online game, but can he come out on top in this real-life game of survival?!

The art is a bit unconsistant, this is one of the things that made me not want to read it after I tried it 2 times, but I'm a sucker for survival manga, so I tried it anyways, it turned out pretty well.

The setting's maybe the same as in battle royal, but unlike in battle royal this manga provides us strategic thoughts too, whereas in battle royal they just fight like crazy with some highschool kids, which only think about simple thoughts like "Lets make a team yay!". It remindes me kinda of chess and the idea with the radars is very exciting too. I'm looking forward to the romance and what will happen next.

In my opinion way more gripping than battle royal.

A subjective entry, in an over-used setting.

After a couple of chapters, The major plot and setting seems to have been taken directly from 'Battle Royale'. but with some minor twists and different characters, that are compelling enough for a reader to give it a distinctive feel from Battle Royale. So far, it introduces us to a quite similar feeling as other notable survival manga's, but future chapters may give this manga it's uniqueness and distinguish it from the other major ones.

unfortunately, The setting has very negative impact to the plot, and it feels very unpolished by common standards. As a reader i would really like to see something outside this cramped island, And not just another recycled live or die situation, with the main character surviving together with the heroine and they live happily ever after. It needs a change in it's setting, to give the plot a bigger spotlight, because as it seems from the recent chapters, We have the typical face an obstacle (usually a new villian), pass the obstacle (After some heavy struggle), proceed on (Usually the part when new characters and plot-twists are introduced) and the cycle continues.

This manga HAS to really prevent itself from doing that, or we'd just have another mediocre Battle royale rip-off, because there's no way in hell this manga will ever have better character back-story then Battle Royale, at least not what it has shown.

I've been hooked since the start! It is highly likely that there will be betrayal is this series and I hope there will be some twists, turns, drama, and action that will keep my interest peeked.

Don't ignore this simply because people are saying its comparable to another manga. At least give it a chance. I am at chapter 19 currently and this manga seems to have a lot of potential. I am currently reading various manga/manwha but this is definitely a good read. Amongst the numerous manga I am currently reading, this is one the few works I have great anticipation for. I won't wait impatiently for a story unless it's good. Don't stop reading after the first chapter. Give it a chance as it develops quite well.

Battle Royale Anyone?

So this is basically Battle Royale. Everyone gets one weapon. Probably being recorded for the entertainment of someone. Possibly some rich fatcats. To survive you have to kill others. Tho this time you don't have to kill everyone else, only 7. Standard 'too innocent/kind/ethical' and also the standard crazies. Expecting at least one Pro in the game if not more.

That said, I'm not putting it down just yet. It certainly has potential since the players are older than the high school kids of BR.

Slightly New Spin on Battle Royale

So we have a flawed-but-obviously-on-the-good-side protagonist, a possible love interest, a handful of sane competitors that will probably die, and many more who are completely insane (but will probably last the majority of the series). There are alterations and revisions, but it basically follows the survival framework developed decades ago. Hopefully the mangaka knows what they're doing with character backstories, or else this manga will just become another drop in the pail. Something that seems interesting at first glance, but after closer scrutiny reveals itself to be just another time-waster full of gratuitous violence, sex, and gore, but lacking the key factors that make a compelling story.

*Update* and the author has succeeded. Not exactly fresh and new, but definitely interesting and well worth reading.

Halo. Definitely Halo. Anyway, seems interesting. I hope it would show some developments other than the typical stuck on an island, fight to death game, with a hottie. But we will see.
