Fukai Youki is one of my favorite mangaka for delivering time and time again unconventional stories in the BL genre. Many of her stories are offbeat and witty, and it's a shame that more of her finer works (like this one) haven't been translated and whereas some of her more mainstream (aka cliche romance) stories have.
This story has a very mature and well developed plot that will have you screaming at the protagonist at parts. It is not a typical happy romance, and it is actually a rather real-life, jaded romance, which makes the plot that much more beautiful because there is no "love and boysmex cures all!" moment--the characters make mistakes and have to live with their mistakes. They learn from their mistakes, and they grow from their mistakes. In the span of just 1 volume, so much character depth and development transpires that it puts many multi-volume manga to shame.
People may be put off when initially reading this by the playboy nature of the protagonist, but please keep reading for his character growth. You won't regret it.
Other than that, it has fantastic art, fun dialogue, emotional highs and lows and even moments of comedy and cuteness. Highly, highly recommended for all those who like a dose of emotions, plot and reality in their BL manga.
....thanx for the review!, apparantly you read japanese and english? Does that mean you can translate it? Also, I noticed you did not mention the actual author, Konohara Narise whom does deserve credit, as an extrordinary yaoi novel writer! I haven't learned enough japanese to actually read a whole novel o :-)
