Himeno's chest hurts if any boy touches her because her heart is a diamond. However, when she was young, she befriended two boys--gentle Mamoru and blunt Keigo--who could touch her without harming her. I like the transgender recognition here.

Although this short series is cheesey as all heck, the respectful recognition of a transgender F-to-M is nice to see. Not sure why nobody tagged GL and trans character tags in this yet.

Cliche, old (and not gold). Generally a mess; the plotline might as well not be canon. The storyline seems to be randomly interspersed with random characters that come in and mysteriously disappear by the next chapter or so with zero development. Plot twists can be seen from twenty miles away. One doesn't even need to blink to know who's going to win.

The ending of volume 2 was terrible. It's as if she wrote herself into a corner and couldn't even be bothered to wrap it up nicely (or probably because she didn't have any ideas of how to) so she simply left it that way. Thankfully, she picked it up again and..... the ending still sucks. What the hell, author?

The art, however, is great, and the bishies kinda redeem this manga a few marks. And well, considering there's no rape due to the fact that the intended demographic is for YOUNG KIDS (confused? Shinjo, maintain), that warrants it another point.

I do wish that Keigo would just dump that embarrassment of a female and run away though.

Recommend if you like sweet fluff to dream about at night. Not recommended if you're turned-off by the same thing.

Cute, but corny

I have read up to volume 3 of this manga. I own all 3 volumes so far. Shinjo is very, very well known for making corny manga, but this... This is corny like corn syrup. It's so saturated with corn syrup that you get fat a lot faster. Also, HOW THE HELL DID WE GET FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL TO HIGHSCHOOL BETWEEN VOLUMES AND WHAT HAPPENED IN BETWEEN WAIT WHAT. Don't get me wrong- I like this series. It's a good read. But for those a little more on the... Logical side... Yeah, you probably shouldn't read.

This is such cheesy garbage. I am a HUGE fan of Shinju Mayu's smut works, as Kaikan Phrase is on my top 5 romances, yet this one was so chiche that it makes my head spin. Instead of a hot romance, we now get a romance for 10 year olds.
Still, I'll continue, as I have read almost everything by her.

I think this manga is actually an upgrade for the mangaka. Shinjo Mayu's previous works were cliched, had no plot and actually had disgusting elements (attempted rape from the main male characters towards the female characters, sexual harassment, etc...). This one is a decent and cute shoujo story. I have enjoyed what I've read so far!

By the way, Mayu wrote smut because her old editor forced her to. She wasn't happy writing in the genre. I remember reading in an article that her newer works without her Sho-comi editor were what she truly wanted to write.

I dont really mind that she went away from drawing smut and ended up doing a manga like this. It had some huge cliches but potential for quite a good plot in the long run. I've been told (I'm not sure) that this is the end the ending seems cut HUGELY like there was entire plot that could have led on from what had already happened I'm just sad its not longer.

i´m a fan of mayu shij´njo, but that manga kind of disappoints me. In one comment in volume one she stated she became a freelance-mangak and kinda ended up in ribon with heart no dia. but i don´t think that simple shoujo is her style. This manga says "i want to have smut content, but i can´t!". But the story is good. To bad Mayu couldn´t get the best out of it

Finished reading the raws and it's pretty much average. As with all other Mayu-sensei's female characters, Himeno is no different. The ending is... kinda hanging and rushed. The best part is that you'll get to feed your eyes on both smoking hawt guys. You might be disappointed if you're fan of Mayu-sensei... but overall it's a good read.

The romance is kind of cliche.(might contain spoilers) I mean right now she 'loves' Mamoru but you know in the end she'll fall in love with Keigo! The overall story about her diamond heart is pretty alright. Interesting enough when she reaches adulthood she gets to have the choice of who to fall in love with. The art is cute, the guys are hot chyeahh! As for the characters the main girl isn't my type. She the typical shoujo stereotype. Dumb, clumsy, the guys wants to protect her because of it.
