The Chateau du Amour specializes in providing the company of beautiful, cultured men to female customers. Few people know that the popular Kiriya is actually Yamada Kotarou, a boy from Nagasaki who came to Tokyo to find a way to repay his parent's debt.

I'm really glad Shinjo Mayu went off smut. her past smut work had male characters that were so forceful on the female lead it was sometime so disturbing to read. so i am really glad she's gone off a new direction. good stuff!
Though Shinjo has made an name for herself in the Smut department, This is actually one of her better works.
There's no smut or smutty scenes, the main guy kiriya/yamada is actually an real sweet guy, he's not an abusive, possessive rapist-in-training. he's also an good faithful boyfriend. though he works as an host it's pretty clean (like Tamaki from Ouran. He just makes the girls feel special.) His girlfriend is likable, not weak or submissive at all. Plus i loved Miya, she was so sweet! The only complaint i have is it could have been longer...
But i guess it's better to not make the series drag on. The comedy just keeps coming and it's great to know Shinjo is improving.
Also the Apple oneshot is cute, funny and has an touch of action. not to mention an Strong female lead & An Funny male lead *Thumbs up*

Like how when kiriya would paid off the debt and went back to Nagasaki and married Miharu, miya could be their flowergirl.

This manga is definitely something different - both for Mayu Shinjo and just in general. Hosts aren't anything new, of course. Neither are surprise kids or past girlfriends showing up on the doorstep. However, throwing them all together is something new and unusual. The end result is a manga that is equal parts charming and frenetic, which somehow works in its favor. I'm not sure why this is labeled a shounen series, since it reads like total shoujo... but whatever it is, it's definitely a good read.
The first of her work that I read that isn't a smut and it was AWESOME!! Storyplot was good and held on strong to the end. Character development is really strong as well and I find myself liking the main character (the host) even more as I see him interact with the child throughout the entire story. Recommend to any shoujo-fans!!
No doubt that Shinjo has a string of popular shoujo and few shounen mangas with many traces of smut but i have to say, this short manga with barely smut was very unique!

ii have a grand world list of shoujo mangas that i have read but surprising this is my FIRST shounen one and i very much liked it.
ii wondaa if there are any shoujo otakus like me who just cant be dragged off frm shoujo but i seriously have neva read a shounen manga in my whole life timee nd this was a start.

I actually like this one the most out of Shinjo Mayu's works. Its kind of like Usagi Drop meets B.O.D.Y? Thats a pretty good comparison since I dont really read alot Host manga. The main character is a host because he has a dream he needs to achieve no matter what, when all of a sudden a abandoned child shows up claiming to be his and she reminds him of how he was when he was small. So hes becomes attached to her but he doesnt know if shes his actual child because he doesnt sell his body, except for one drink night he doesnt remember. Did I mention he has a girlfriend? or something to that extent. Im kind of glad theres no rough smut in this series so FAR. The artwork in this series is really good compared to her past works.
