"story is generic"??!! wtf....
only generic thing about this is that a guy falls for a girl, and it would be weird if that didnt happen considering this is a manga has a romance tag/plot/whatever. but other than that this is a really legit story. the male protagonist is a straight up GANGSTER, who speaks his mind and rocks out with his cock out all day long. which is refreshing compared too the "soft spoken jap pansy" male lead that is common manga and is extremely bothersome. not only that but the female lead (which kind of seems generic at first) has some serious and surprising depth once you get a few chapters in.
end of story, great read. read it

The translations are slow in coming and the story line is generic in every since of the word. If you have ever read any romance shounen you'll be in for no surprises as it follows the cookie cutter style plot. However it is not with out its own charm and can be compelling in its own right. If you're bored and want to something to do it is worth the time to read it.
The first arc was great.

It better not be like Gacha Gacha where the second arc has totally different characters from the first arc. but OMG v5 ch15 was amazing...thats the way to end one arc of a manga.
Perfect!

Seriously this incredibly stunning gun blazing supernatural cowboy witch is by far the most lethal heroine ever to grace manga! I am hooked, what can i say after reading through only 5 volumes of epic supernatural battles to learn there is still 9 more chapters not translated!? Unbelievable! Back to the review Kurohime has a very unique plot, unpredicatable outcomes, great art, and unbelievable potential to be a aboslute classic! You will journey with Kurohime and her faithful sidekick Zero another freak gun blazing prodigy. The character development is very deep as it deals with sacrifice and love. Seriously why am i still writing this review, we are here to read and if my review hasn't made you go and find this manga to read then you are missing out like if you've never drank coke before. Go out and read it now if you havent, cause I could write a whole book on how underated this manga is.
By the way the pic they have up there of her thats her cursed teenage look, dont let if fool you. Her original adult form will give you a MASSIVE nose bleed!

Yes, the first 8 chapters of the manga are somewhat tedious. It's called exposition. It is essentially setting up for an epic story. For people to judge this 14 volume manga on the first 3 volumes is simply absurd. Furthermore, it has an outstanding hook, and even though it is episodic in nature, like most shonen manga is, at first, you can clearly see the development of the characters.
As previously stated Kurohime is quickly becoming my favorite female character in manga. She is stacked (and I love the beauty mark).
Zero is a little too childishly drawn for my tastes, mainly because his design doesn't fit his personality, but he is such a strong character that I can overlook that.
Overall, this is shaping up to be one of my favorites of all time if it continues like this.

I'll say it again, Kurohime is the the most beautiful protagonist you will find in Manga. That should about sum it up for the artwork.
As for the plot, if you read the first three volumes, your reactions would likely be the same as many others (myself included). You would feel that despite the mesmerizing artwork, the storyline is repetitive and cliche. Again, the artwork is the only motivation to continue reading.
However, if you are patient enough to read through Vol 4 where the story ultimately picks up pace (at a rate of 0-60mph in 5sec), you will find yourself in
the tight grip of a beautiful woman/or man (which ever your prefer). Unfortunately, I am caught in Kurohime's tight grip but I don't want to get out.

As I suspected... first 8 chapters exist to help you become familiar with the characters. The main plot doesn't advance much over those 8 chapters. (The author should probably have come up better material for this period, but he didn't, so as a result people complained that this story was repetitive and formulaic.) Chapter 9 onward become more serious. A lot of important developments already, and there are only 14 chapters total scanlated. In Japan there are 14 volumes out o.o It's difficult to see where it will lead plot-wise (even more so character-wise) but I'm reminded a lot of Angel Sanctuary.
So yeah, like a ton of shounen, it starts out somewhat episodic and picks up and starts to become epic. I honestly really like it. If you don't mind that relatively little has been scanlated so far, check it out!
