Description
Shinjou Shouryuu is a healthy 17-year-old high-school boy. Many of his kouhai wonder why such a great guy doesn't have a girlfriend. Ask him and he'll tell you that between school, work, and saving his kouhais from bullies doesn't leave him much time to go on dates. So he instead goes online to "F.I.L. GATES". There in the chat room his alter-ego, Kakeru, is infatuated with the girl called Hal. Hal sends a message reminding him that Sunday will be the six month anniversary of when they first met (online) and that she wants to meet him in person! And let's just say it's not your typical first date.

This manga is about the romance and complexities of an internet relationship.

Not what it seems at first !

At first it seems like one shots.
But actually it isn't !

If like me you stoped reading because you didn't like how it was going the first 3 chapters. Please, stick with the manga for a little longer, as the characters of the first chapter come back, and seems to be the "main" ones for the rest of the story !

Strange, because this is the first time I've written a comment, and certainly the first time I've commented on a manga after only one chapter. However, I've re-read this chapter 2 or 3 times in the last few hours, and I still find it enjoyable. The art seems good quality, the plot has potential, and the characters engaging. I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Started out good

started out really good, honestly it became less romancey after chapter 10, I really enjoyed the Haruka and Kakeru characters but they shifted the focus of the story (at least up to chapter 17) and they're not even together just making the story seem like it's about online chatting, meeting with people you met online (not romantically) and cyber bullying. Frankly the progression of the story basically made it to get rid of the Haruka girl as a main character and made her entirely a side character that just ruined the story for me.

granted they'll probably fix this problem in the last volume since thats just how these things go, but i just don't have the patience to read the inbetween volumes because of this.

read volume 1, half of volume two, and skip to the last volume.

Universal Disappointment?

A lot of people have hit this series on the dot...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Turning a main character into a side character is pretty risky, and I don't feel that Oshima Towa pulled it off very cleanly. There used to quite a lot of romance in the novel, but then it begins to focus on cheating with multiple online girls (which isn't even a little romantic, not even with Miu). Kakeru basically turns into a playboy that doesn't even care about how Haruka feels. A little too much of a sudden change... I think we all would rather see more development between Kakeru and Haruka instead of outcasting her from the entire story.

The story can still be salvaged. This series actually reminds me of Boku no Hatsuka wa Kimi ni Sasagu (my favorite manga). But if this manga is going to get any better, the Haruka needs to come back into the storyline as a MAIN character and then focus on the drama with their hidden love for each other.

From what I read so far, I really like this series. It reminds me A LOT of salad days, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I would say you can expect "short stories" rather than "one shots" (they aren't the same! at least to me lol). Obviously some stories will only get one chapter, but the others that need to be fleshed out a bit (aka ch2-3) will get a few more.

Stories so far have all been extremely heart warming.
Art is pretty nice, but fairly standard. Worth a read, so see what you think.

I found the main couple in this very interesting. Unlike other people, I don't see what's wrong with the latest chapter (ch6)... I definitely don't see any cheating... this kinda stuff happens all the time in real life...

This is a good manga to read. even though there are only 10 ch scanlated, so much has happened. At first, i thought it was going to be a bunch of short stories because ch 2 doesnt have the same characters as ch 1 but eventually it just stuck to the characters in ch 1 (which i liked better anyways).

this manga is not a bunch of oneshots... keep reading.

YOU MUST READ!!!!

It seemed like oneshots, but story 4 is the same couple from story 1. Stories 2 and 3 is about a separate couple which make an appearance in story 4.

I HATE SLICE OF LIFE!

Who would have thought that a slice of life would have had the quick and solid relationship development through couples.. a friend of mine says that it may be the seinen part because many slice of life don't develop anything, I must say this has opened my eyes to slice of life-- I think I will not completely dismiss the slice of life genre after this (if not at least along with seinen). I am barely halfway through volume 2 right now-- but boy is this good! The only reason I gave this a chance was the "Alter ego" and "Dissociative Identity Disorder"

PS I see why people dislike this
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the fact the main turns into side character and it terns into ministories but I don't mind it so much because they are still rather humorous and such some people recommend just skipping it and reading last volume I wouldn't agree doing this if you truly enjoyed the characters like I did, but I wouldn't blame you if you did

"i was liking this manga quite abit, thinking it's not a bad romance story for a seinen category...NOT! That guy turned out to be a cheating jerk! *SCREAMS*." ~neine

Uhhh... Haruka not only refused to speak with the guy, she later cut off all connection with him just because he was a little late to a meeting. She didn't give him a chance to say anything. I think that's a great deal worse than what Kakeru did (going out with an online friend to relieve some stress/frustration, which we can blame on Haruka). He doesn't even accept Miu's (the other girl's) feelings until he really thought Hal dumped him for good.
